Very relaxing and peaceful place to spend your "me" time moment. Sit one of the provided bench just take it in and admire 360 view of the valley. Beautiful scenery.
There are two places where you can hike, on the top of the hill or hike down at the bottom. The hiking trail on the hill side is along the Panorama road. It's really easy hike. Wheelchair accessible. Lot's of trees and watch out for the squirrels. They are not afraid to approach people begging for food. Dogs are welcome anytime of the year. The hill trail has a mesmerizing view of the town. At the bottom trail, you can hike down. If you hike in the summer go early. There is no shade to hike down. It's about two to three miles out and back. Don't forget to bring lots of water. Not highly recommended to bring your dog in the summer to the bottom trail unless you hike really early in the morning. Bakersfield weather in summer time is really really hot. It can go up to over a hundred degrees. Just be cautious. There's a river on the bottom trail. And, lots of trails and trees.
By the way, there is a parking lot but it only take maybe 15 to 20 cars. Most people park along the street. No parking fee. It's free.
So, go ahead and experience this beautiful hiking trail. Oh one more thing, no bathroom provided. There is a drinking...
Read moreGreat area to go for jogs or walks or just to hang out.Has the feel of being out far on some hiking trip on a mountain yet the looks of a pearl. With the edge of the neighborhood very near by gives u a sense of security knowing u wont get lost in the wilderness or have to backpack with extra weight of water and food because there's a couple stores right across from street. What u will have is a spectacular view of the oil fields in direction of Oil Dale. Looks like a desert with mountains in background as far as the eye can see. U are able to hike or jog down some areas along the trail to scale the mountain/hillside if u choose to. Then theres a trail along side Kern River u can merge to. The whole scenery is panoramic as to fit the parks name. Nice area nice neighborhood...
Read morePanorama Park or locally known as "The Bluffs" is one of the most scenic places in all of Bakersfield where you can take walks with an almost daily constant breeze as you enjoy the sights. I would strongly recommend checking this place out on days where the air quality is visibly cleaner or afternoons when clouds begin to clear so you too can see the ability this place has at giving you outstanding views of the rest of Bakersfield to the west & fantasy story book worthy covers of the hills towards the east. (An honorable mention to this place would have to be on nights where the moon is at...
