We had an okay time. We came specifically for the dog beach and dog friendly park but didn't know until we arrived that dogs are really only allowed in one little beach area. It also costs $11 for a day pass. If you're going for the dog friendly park and beach I'd say save your money and go to the free tawas city parks that allow dogs and have nicer beaches and amenities. The restrooms are on the main beach which doesn't allow dogs. There is not any picnic tables or shady areas, there was 1 bench. The dogs liked the water and it is very shallow so they can play and splash but keep them leashed, it's a $250 fine if they are caught off leash, however we saw several letting their dogs run...
