The Malki Museum is a terrific cultural experience.Located inside The Morongo Native American community land near Banning,California this an excellent cultural, visual and learning experience for the entire family! The Malki Museum is now open to visitors to share cultural awareness and encourage preservation of Southern California Indian cultures, along with other Indians having historical and cultural ties to Southern California, for future generations. The museum features collections and displays of art, artifacts, and historical materials of the Indians of the San Gorgonio Pass Area, and acts as a common meeting ground for Natives and non-Natives to learn about the past. The staff is welcoming and offer insight into So Cal Native American culture and art. They have books, gifts and memorabilia available, free parking and there is no charge to visit this educational center! This is an excellent visit when you're in Banning,Morongo,Cabazon area of Southern California! . . . . #malkimuseum #nativeamerican #culture #banning #natives #malki #indiannations #educational #nativeplants #nativeart #godisgood #seetheusa #natgeoyourshot #natgeo #morongo #cabazon

A museum that shares the history and culture of the Morongo band of Cahuilla Indians. The museum is small but packs tons of information into the tight space. There is also a native garden which informs visitors of the historical and cultural usage of these plants for the Cahuilla. Make sure to have a valid ID since you will need it to enter the reservation where the museum is located.

A must see place. After entering the reservation at a manned station, the museum is a short distance from I-10. Beautiful baskets and other items as well as a wealth of information about the original people of the area. The informative garden just behind the museum was wonderful as well. Friendly, sharing and knowledgeable staff.
