Stopped here on Tuesday, October 8, 2024. Great paved (and free) parking lot with a nice easy hiking trail that allows you to walk down to the cliffs and take some great photos of the nearby Egg Rock Lighthouse. It's also outside the Acadia loop road, so you don't have to buy a National Park Access pass (at $30) to visit or stop here for the photo ops. Just west of the parking lot is also an entry gate for the Acadia National Park Loop road that we used after stopping here.

One of my favorite finds in Acadia! Plenty of magical ocean views from the rocky edges. We were lucky enough to come across this place during low tide and explore the enchanting sea cave. Apparently it was once a big park attraction but all signs and railings have been removed and erased from maps because of the risk. It can be quite slippery climbing down and especially within the cave, but just be careful. Oh and only venture in there during low tide!

- Acadia charges to enter the park. I’m from out of state so I paid $35 for 7 days. Once you’re in the park there’s no additional fees for parking unless you want to drive up Cadillac mountain, then you need to pay $6 (online only with reserved times). - There’s a gravel path down to the rock formation. - No bathrooms at the trail entrance.

Its 4 miles from Bar Harbour.Has small trail that leads to Rocky cliffs and spectacular view of Egg Rock.Egg Rock Light is a lighthouse on Frenchman Bay, Maine. Built in 1875, it is one of coastal Maine's architecturally unique lighthouses, with a square tower . Its a heaven for Nesting sea birds. A very quiet Place TO ENJOY some peaceful Time. we even spotted a Porcupine on...
