Silver Lake states Park No...No...No... Please !!!!! We had a terrible, disappointing camping trip at this park. Our group consisted of 30 people: adults, youth and children. On Friday afternoon 6-14, we arrived at the park at 7:00pm then started setting up tents, finished at 8:30pm and started eating, then at 9:00pm the "Park Police" appeared, it was Hunter, the employee working here. With an aggressive and authoritative attitude, he ordered us to be quiet even though it was not yet 10:00pm. On Sunday, Father's Day, we worshiped at 10:00am, everyone knows that music is indispensable when praising God's name, and then Hunter appeared again and ordered us to turn off the music and asked the pastor to go to the office, while there was still a tape playing on the beach. Then Hunter began to monitor and follow us, making the young people uncomfortable to talk about the interesting lessons, the attractive movies, the music programs that the young people participated in... Hunter erased the beautiful, poetic images of the beach with the green grass stretching to the smooth white sand, the airy space of Silver Lake States Park Dear friends! We are living in the 21st century in the United States of America 🇺🇸, we have the right to freedom, love peace, a civilized country of humanity, the right to live, the right to equality, the right to enjoy because we are citizens who work and pay taxes to the government, so we cannot let Hunter do whatever he wants at Silver Lake State Park. I know you are smart people who will not let anyone ruin your fun, that is, do not come to Silver Lake State Park while Hunter is still...
Read moreWe enjoyed a 4 night stay at Silver Lake State Park in mid-July 22. The weather was comfortable with a slight breeze during the afternoon. We had a thunderstorm skirt through that lasted 25 minutes with sunshine shortly after it's exit. The lake is great for kayaking, canoeing, paddle boats and paddleboarding. The beach has access forday trippers and campers with ample parking. There is a bathroom at the beach with wifi, a small snack bar, play ground, volley ball net snd a basketball net. The road in the park leading to the campsites is narrow and the turns can be tricky for larger RVs and vehicles. If you are looking for a site that accommodates your vehicle. It may be wise to call the office for their recommendations. The staff were courteous and helpful with all our questions from directions within the park and outside. We ventured out of the park one day to hike a small portion of the Appalachian Trail and to see a bit of Woodstock. The views of the Green Mountains in Vermont are always special. We enjoyed our days and...
Read moreWe love this park. There is no electricity, water, or septic hookup, but you are allowed to run a generator for a couple hours, twice a day. It gives you the real camping feel with trees all around and space between sites. There are water spigots spaced throughout and 2 bathroom facilities. Showers are at least .50 cents for 5 minutes, but good hot water and pressure. The lake is clean and small enough that you can be in the middle and easily paddle anywhere. No motor boats. The park rents out boats, kayaks, paddle boats, etc. There is aside wooded section with picnic tables, grills, and water access for fishing. They also have a large covered pavilion for events. Great little treasure for...
