Mass Audubon's Cook's Canyon Wildlife Sanctuary Entrance — Attraction in Barre

Tucked away off the main road this scenic destination is absolutely beautiful! Walking around on the well maintained trails (as well as the seasonal back trail that crosses a small creek) you get to experience a true New England location with marvelous species of plants and beautiful trees. Around the small pond at the end of the trail you can smell the fresh wild lilac scent on the air as you observe the pond and its wildlife. Beautiful & scenic peaceful place with trails. Lovely wooded spot that's great for hiking, or just a stroll through nature. Not usually crowded. Plenty of parking spots just before the entrance. Dogs are not allowed here, I'm assuming because of the wildlife. Easy to find. Located right near the downtown section of Barre. A close walk to the common, gas station & convenience stores. Nice place to enjoy alone or with others. Family friendly. Good to visit...

Nice little loop of trails that go around to the falls, which were raging pretty good the other day when I went! There's also some other little off shoot trails that go down along the water and wind up behind the shopping plaza in Barre.. also a couple other trails, but I'm pretty sure they go onto someone's farm property... 🤔🤷‍♂️ otherwise a nice spot to get a few miles in and catch a pretty decent...
