Crystal Lake State Park — Attraction in Barton

We stayed at the cottage over Memorial Day weekend. It was absolutely everything you need. We are a family of 4 with a 2 and 5 year old. The cottage was clean and the grounds are well kept. There are basic cleaning supplies provided for your stay, but we would recommend bringing food from home because the local store is very, very expensive and somewhat limited. Beautiful park! They make it super difficult to rent a kayak or paddle board. It's almost like they don't want to be there. The only take cash at the actual rental house but you have to go back to the entrance to use a debit or credit card. The person running the rentals was on lunch and it was going to be less than 2 hours to be able to rent anything anyway. Plus there are no garbage cans by the picnic tables or anywhere other than maybe inside the building. Plus $4 a person...

Crystal lake is my favorite Vermont State Beach! It is always clean and well taken care of. There is a huge lawn for kids to play whiffle ball, soccer or any type of lawn game.
