If you live locally then I'm sure you've been to Bass Lake Beach at least once in your life and since its both conveniently located and reasonably priced, you probably visit the beach every year. Over the years the beach has undergone upgrades and repairs but the building is still somewhat outdated and lacks features that make visiting the beach more enjoyable. A concession stand thats open daily and offers both food and beach necessities for purchase, such as little swimmer, googles, and sunscreen for forgetful individuals like myself would make a trip to the beach more pleasant. It would also be nice to see vending machines, tube rentals, and more shaded seating throughout the beach. All in all, its a clean and functional place to cool off during the summer months without having to drive 30+ minutes or deal with large crowds. If you are visiting from out of town, new to the area, or have a vacation home on the lake it's worth popping in for some fun with friends or the family. If you're looking for a beach with a playground, shaded grassy areas to relax or picnic, and more food options it would be worth taking the 15 minute drive to Lake Maxinkuckee in Culver, just remember that they're on...
Read moreSo we got there about 9:00 a.m. on a Sunday there was literally nobody there. The beach is definitely not combed. The challenge is there's no bathrooms by the actual beach if you don't have a boat. In the bathrooms are very crude for a place that's you know busy usually they should have a really really nice bathroom Plus they charge you to get in there. We didn't get charged at the time there was I don't know if we're on the off season now or we just went to early but we didn't get charged. As you probably read any other reviews the lake is super shell so I went out probably a good 50 ft maybe 75 ft from the shore and I was only waist high. Water was warm it was 81°. I just wish they had better bathrooms and a place...

I live right around the corner, and I'm not going to be paying 10 dollars each time to just swim for 30 mins. There's a free beach on the other side of the lake that probably has nicer sand on the shoreline. I was confused when I took my kids there after they were done "constructing" it. I thought they were going to clean the beach up, with new sand. I see no progress, besides the little park, and the woodchips don't feel too good on everybody's bare feet. If my kids ever want to go again, we'll go after 6. When there's...
