Located just 2 minutes west of the intersection of HWY 503 and NE 149th st in between Vancouver & Battleground. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS DOG PARK. If youâre not from the area, itâs absolutely worth the drive. WIDE open spaces with a stunning view of Mt. Hood on a clear day.
Dakota dog park (Dakota Dog Park is listed with photos and videos along with other dog parks in my reviews) is the closest park to my house. However, Luna and I venture out into the country to enjoy the peace and solitude of this huge wide open Park. I really enjoy the other dog owners that frequent here as well. If youâve got a dog that likes to play a little rough, like jumping, tackling and mouthing other dogs this is the place that has the pups and cool pup owners for you. I have found when taking Luna to inner-city dog parks throughout Portland that other dog owners are intimidated by her energy level. Where is out in the country other dog owners seem to have a full understanding that thatâs just how some breeds operate.
I cannot fathom why other reviews of Lucky memorial dog park mention âmud pitâ? I suppose the area around the running water faucet could be considered muddy? As you can see from my pictures and videos, both the large dog park and the small dog park are all solid grass and bark chip trails.
If I had to sum up this dog park in one word, it would be...
Read moreLucky Memorial dog park in Brush Prarie is an amazing park. The open field of the park is great for dogs to runaround and play with other dogs. The path along the perimeter of the park is perfect for walking around with your dog and for meeting new people to walk with. There is a wonderful Nature Reserve that you enter through the back gate of the dog park. There are wonderful trails to explore with your dogs and on hot days walking through the woods helps cool down dogs and their humans. The park is full of regulars and always has a very friendly vibe. The park used to have an agility course that is currently closed off. No word yet that I know of if the agility course will be open again. The park has a water spout for the dogs. You will need to bring your own bowls unless your dog drinks from a spout. There is a small park with a separate entrance for small and shy dogs so that your dog will be away from the bigger and outgoing dogs. There are usually bags stocked to clean up after your pet. My dog loves going to this park. She always has a blast for hours. I recommend this dog park for anyone who would like a happy and relaxing place to take their fluffy...
Read moreUpdating my previous 5* to 4*, mostly because of irresponsible humans. Don't get me wrong, this dog park is really nice. There's running water from April through October for the dogs, there are paths, plenty of parking and separate areas for 'general population' as well as 'small dog/shy dog' area. Here is how people are irresponsible: there have been plenty of instances where dogs have no recall. That's a real problem if they jump up on other people and get into other people's and dogs' spaces. People feed other people's dogs. They don't ask. People bring their dog's toys. If I have my large dog in the 'shy dog' area and you bring in your dog with toy and no recall without asking if it's ok (which I believe you should as I would ask before bringing my dog into that area), I am pointing out my dog has resource guarding issues and you continue to throw the ball for your no recall dog that doesn't even fetch, essentially leaving you playing golf, that can create a problem. Meanwhile, in the larger area what sounded like a dog fight between three dogs broke lose, leaving me no other choice but to leave instead of being able to safely exercise and...
