Great lake, and park, but its hosts are TERRIBLE TERRIBLE people! Be warned! Like nowhere else at all, these people are actively looking to start a conflict with somebody, for any reason and no reason. They drive around in their golf carts consistently unhappy and on a power trip. If you ask them any questions, they get abnoxiusly rude in their responses. It doesn't matter how polite you are with them. These are some very trashy negative people. Their level of customer service is below non-existent, their level of hostility towards random people is just unbelievable. Two older ladies are definitely the worst! The parking lot here is nice and spacious, but it gets full rather fast especially on the weekends. On such days, at around 2 o'clock or so, they'll normally start closing the parking lot to all new arrivals, and then they reopen as cars start to leave. At this time, DO NOT park your car on the shoulder that is right next to this park (where it says emergency parking only) and all throughout that shoulder really, not even before the sign's arrow!!! You'll likely get towed! The sheriff here is now constantly on the lookout for cars to tow, but at least the sheriff seems to be reasonable enough to warn the people beforehand. And don't overstay in their parking lot EVER! Recently, I heard of people being locked in for being exactly 3 minutes late. They will purposely not let you leave until the sheriff comes in to unlock the gates, and at this point you'd be trespassed. Enjoy this...

I stopped by this park to go for a swim after hiking to the crater at Mount Saint Helens. Not only was this a great place for that, the hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. I forgot to ask her name, but one lady with blonde hair and tattoos went above and beyond and waited for me to use the restroom to clean it/ pointed me in the direction of their well water before I got back on the road. They also had no problem breaking $100 for a $4 parking fee so that was also very helpful....

I loved it. The water was cool and clean.. and the parking was free and there was plenty of it.. even with all the boaters!!Peeps with there trailers for boats.. and the lady who watches over things there, she came around and asked us if we needed trash bags which was way cool.. u don't see that at the parks around here!!! No BBQs provided at this park but I seen people with there own burning propane for some steaks and wieners... I will definitely be back to...

This is a nice piece of heaven hidden just south east of Mt. St.Helen’s. This is on the way to Ape Caves so it’s a nice pit stop. There’s ample free parking and dog friendly. Lots of space for recreational activities. Although it’s spring time, it was about 40F and the water was freezing. The drive alone is a treat, tons of beautiful nature scenery. It’s definitely a nice get away for anyone but specially those who live in the city like me. Happy Sunday Funday! 🌊☀️

Lovely park with a huge lake and plenty of room for privacy. $3 fee for single car. I went on a Sunday and it never got too crowded. Lake is rocky so I recommend swim shoes or the like for comfort while getting in and out of the water. Also be careful or logs/branches in the bottom. Overall a great time, nice bathrooms and plenty of picnic tables, not much in terms of lawn space between them though.
