Historic Rainbow Bridge — Attraction in Baxter Springs

I was surprised how nice this old bridge stands proud for your enjoyment. It was actually something special to drive through on. Its good condition gave me a sense of what it was like back in the day traveling Route 66. Without a doubt this is a great part of history that you should drive over if driving Route 66. Although you can only drive over going in the west direction. So if headed east, just pass the bridge about 100 yards or so, and turn in. Then cross the bridge and then back onto the road. Interesting who you'll meet on route 66 met this couple at rainbow bridge that was from Wisconsin. They flew out to California rented a truck and started driving back home on route 66 I took their pictures and we home to each other and they went by I wanted to tell him about some of the stuff in Missouri but they just wanted a wave.. we talked about how it's hard sometimes to keep up with the old route 66 and what it currently is was great...

A wonderful attraction. This had always been a do not miss until late fairly recently. In its current state i unfortunately believe caution should be used. The Bridge itself is Falling into obvious disrepair and the surrounding grounds have weeds so out of control as to make the area potentially unsafe. THE WEEDS...
