We took advantage of the free waterpark day upon check in day at your Disney resort. It is automatically loaded onto your tickets and passes. Check your resort on transportation to the park, as some hotels offer a direct bus, and others require a transfer at animal kingdom park. When we arrived, it was thunderstorming so the rides were closed, we were made aware upon entering, but we could still enter. We got some food at the warming hut. We also shopped around at the main shop. We got a locker for $10. We only had to wait about an hour or so until the announcement that everything was back open. We went on a Sunday and it was quite crowded despite the weather, I overheard a lot of people using the free water park day perk. We had never been here before. We got complimentary towels at the main store and put them down next to the exit of what slide we were doing. Other people used a waterproof phone pouch during the day. We wore water shoes the whole day, and only had to take them off for the body slides and hold them (and you had to hold your waterproof phone pouch also). To get to summit plummet (the main tall drop slide), you can ride the chair lift, or you can walk up a lot of stairs. Once at the top you can get in line for a variety of different rides all positioned in that area. We waited 30 minutes for summit plummet. Which sounds better than it is, as you get water blasted in your face, and the water blasts against your back in a painful way all the way down. There is another body slide next door which has some humps, which people say you catch air on and then slam back down on the slide which hurts so we skipped that one. We did teamboat springs, which is a group raft slide. It looks like it can hold 6 people or so, but we were just a group of two. It went surprisingly fast and was fun, but the wait took about 25 minutes. We did the runoff rapids which is a single tube slide which was enjoyable and about a 10 minute wait. We did the downhill double dippers which was our favorite but this also took 30 minutes. First you wait for a tube and then you wait in the line to race. There was a few odd numbers so it took a little extra time to get to the front. However this one was thrilling as there are two steep ish drops and you go fast! We did both of the mat slides, one is curvy and fast and one is a racing one with humps, both were fun and short waits. We took the lazy river as a mode of transportation to get to the front of the park when leaving, and we also took it for a large loop around the park. The current could be a tiny bit faster but it is definitely not peaceful as there are many children running through, splashing, bumping into you, etc. There is a large wavepool as well that we did not experience. There is also a teen only area and a kid only area. We did eat at the warming hut which was only fine. We were able to accomplish all of that in 4 hours. Overall we enjoyed our time, but maybe don’t need to go back a...
Read moreI really enjoyed this water park. It was my first time here and it was running super well. The slides were fun and exciting. For the most part, the wait wasn't terrible. The food was pretty good for park fare. I have only a couple topics that I feel can be improved upon. My glasses came off and sunk to the bottom of a catch pond. I informed the staff who told me they couldn't allow me to go in and retrieve them. They called for a "Coordinator" but after several minutes informed me that there was some kind of situation they were involved in and wouldn't be coming soon. These were prescription and very expensive sunglasses. After waiting for twenty minutes, I just went down the slide again and got them myself. This was a minor slide in the Ski Patrol area of the park where my son and I were playing. My feeling was that it would not have inconvenienced anyone to stop the slide for 30 seconds to allow me to get my glasses. This slide was very infrequently used and many minutes would go by without a single rider entering the slide. I feel like this situation could have resolved much more easily and considerately if the lifeguards on duty had been afforded the control over the slides that they should have.
The other area for improvement would definitely be the lack of changing rooms. In order to change out of swimwear and into dry clothes, we had to visit the restroom and a toilet stall is an awful place to try and change clothes. We had to disrobe in the common area of the restroom between the sinks and the urinals. Just an awful experience. Not family friendly. After our visit, we learned that there is one changing room at the front of the park, but since this was my first time, and we had set up in the back of the park, we didn't know. The last area of concern was a distinct lack of family-oriented slides. Teamboat was the only multi-rider slide that I saw. Aquatica, for instance, has at least five. Overall, I felt like it could have been much better (Disney parks rarely...
Read moreWe attended Blizzard Beach on 9th of July 2025.
We had two umbrellas booked ahead of time but after experiencing a beachcomber shack at typhoon lagoon the previous week we decided to try upgrade to a polar patio.
The upgrade process was extremely easy and the staff in the Beach Haus were very accommodating.
The patio came with a cooler of water, refill cups for soda, towels and a safe for valuables and if you have very small children this was right beside the frozen themed splash pad was which very convenient.
We rented number 7 and quite honestly John the attendant didn’t elevate the experience.
Don’t get me wrong the guy did his job but spent most of the time telling us why he couldn’t do certain things and what he had to do before he could fulfil our requests.
The service we received at typhoon lagoon was excellent and John did have high standards to uphold and he just didn’t.
At typhoon lagoon we were given cans of soda and blizzard beach you were given a cup to refill at the self service station a short walk away. Personally we preferred the cans of soda and them just being there, which meant we drink less, first world problems I know but I am just comparing the differences between the two experiences.
We ordered lunch early because he told us lunch was a busy time and he said that we would ‘have to’ come back to get my card later because I was ordering too early (request made at 11am for lunch at 12.30/1pm). The lunch dishes which were clearly done weren’t removed for several hours while we enjoyed the park and we had to ask for them to be removed. The answer was - I wont remove anything unless you ask. To us this is basic and was going to attract bugs etc to the patio.
We paid $399.95 each time and we just felt that typhoon lagoon was a more luxurious service and the attendant we had there went above and beyond and John...
