This was our first time here and we weren't sure what to expect. It's a lovely reclaimed area. The trails are generously sized for walking/biking, though some of the ones around the water are narrow foot paths. The plant life is abundant, we did see a number of water birds, not as much of others. Being the weekend (Mother's Day) there were lots of people fishing, crabbing, some picnicking, especially in the areas where you can drive. In the trails-only section, there were fewer amenities and large areas without bathrooms for some distance. That was the reason for the 4 star, along with the trash along some of the paths and trails. There was even a large yoga mat stuck in a bush along one of the paths, food trash, etc. I realize that unfortunately there are those who will use and abuse without care, but it's still disheartening to see. But overall it was a lovely visit, a beautiful day for a long walk and enjoying...
Read moreWow.... I walk in to ask some questions about the place and pricing as I am getting to the door I hear this man yelling on top of his lungs about a chain. I walk in and he is going off on this lady. He sees me and lowers his voice but tells the lady you did it. She kept doing something, as I'm walking out he starts all over again. Wow what a great way to welcome someone I didnt even care that he overcharged me. That man is rude even when he charges you, he asked the age of my kid I told him 3 and he tells me in a laughing manner yeah well he looks about 4. I said yeah but he is 3 he does that creepy laugh again and says yeah he be 3 if you dont want to pay the 1.00 fee. And gives me my ticket. A few hours later before leaving I decided to go in there and get some info never been at nature center and let him know that the trails were flooded and he again did that creepy laugh and said yeah that's what happens...
Read moreBeautiful place to visit, 1st time there to fish off a pier, was there for 20 mins till a father and daughter showed up to fish real friendly people, 10 mins after a couple show up to fish saying there their everyday fishing but the female companion with the male was intoxicated to where she was being rude and annoying playing music on her phone really loud and singing which made the peacefulness go away, started arguing with her male companion throwing her fishing pole started swinging it almost hitting me kept looking at my wife really ugly n making loud gestures to she isn't scared to fight anyone on the pier, so to avoid conflict we packed up and left, made a 2hr drive out there to fish peacefully for only 30 mins, not the parks fault for her actions but there are signs when u pull in to pay which say no alcohol allowed...will not be taking that drive anytime soon but is a peaceful Beautiful place...
