Pretty easy hike through a mix of wooded and open terrain. Trail is an old road so it is fairly wide. Our first visit was in the summer, so parts of the trail (particularly farther from the parking lot) are considerably overgrown. There are several side trails, but most are too overgrown for summer access. We plan to return in the fall and winter to explore those. Lake access is available in many spots, and some are obviously popular fishing areas. Visited on a summer Saturday and saw several people close to parking, but noone past a mile in.
