Horrible experience. Although the wine was ok (even good if I am being honest) the service was the worst I have ever experienced at a winery. They had a big wedding happening outside and were pretty busy in the tasting room. There were three people working behind the bar, one was mostly with a large party at one end. A second was helping several different guests at the other end. The third (and the one that started helping us) severed us the first two of our 5 tastings, then her family (I am guessing sister, husband, and two children) arrived. This lady then totally ignored us and just focused on her family. The kids got coloring books, pretzels, the adults had wine and beer tastings. She kept telling them they could get whatever they wanted and get her 50% off discount. She never helped another guest for the rest of our time there We waited over 20 minutes until the second lady finally noticed our glasses had been empty for a while and gave us our remaining tastings. We wanted to purchase a bottle of your port however no one ever came back to see us so after another 15 minutes we put our $10 on the counter and walked out. Very disappointing, paying customers should be as important as your family when you...
Read moreI visited Mackinaw Trail Winery for the first time last week with my friend for some wine tasting and we had an awesome time. The customer service was out of this world and the selection was awesome too. We got here early in the day as they open at 10AM during the week and got to meet the owner and his son. I was blown away by how passionate they are and how they took the time to talk to us about the wine making process and the industry as a whole. I learned more about wine making in 20 - 30 minutes than I had in the previous five years of tasting. The staff made us feel right at home so we ended up staying 2 or 3 hours. All the wines and beers were very good. We did two tastings and a couple more single samples so we tried about 12 wines and beers when it was all said and done. We ended up buying five bottles of wine. I can't speak highly enough about the staff and management here, they went above and beyond to make sure we got to try everything that sounded good. They even went as far as to recommend other wineries in the area that we might want to...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I were intrigued to try this place out because they actually served wine and beer, which i have never seen before in a winery. But, this actually worked out because I wanted to try their wines and he loves beer, so it was a win/win. He tried the Whitless IPA, which tasted smooth, hoppy & piney. All good things in an IPA. I tried their flight of wines, which the woman behind the counter was very good in helping me pick out which ones I should try. My absolute favorite however, was the Frontenac Gris. It tasted amazing, the right amount of subtleness in sweetness and the perfect amount of fruitiness. We ended up buying 2 bottles of the Frontenac, one for ourselves and another for a friend. Overall, the service was great, the drinks were amazing and then there were these two adorable goldens going table to table accepting pets! Which honestly, i loved! After I asked, they were the owner’s dogs that came to work with them everyday 💕 next time I am in town, i will...
