Northern Natural Cider House & Winery — Attraction in Bear Lake Township

My family has been going to this place every summer. We walked in on a Saturday during Labor Day weekend 2024. There was one couple sitting outside and 2 couples sitting at the bar who had already been served. Our party consisted of 6 people over 21 and 3 minors. We always order pizzas and have a few drinks. The minute we walked in the door we were informed that we couldn’t do flights because she was too busy to do any glass washing. We informed her that we were not going to do any flights so no problem. She asked if she could check the other people out before she helped us. We told her no problem since we were trying to figure out what we were going to order. She was so short and rude. When she came back I asked her if I could sample one of their options. She stated “ As I mentioned before, there are no clean glasses, you have to order either an 8 oz or a 16 oz drink”. There were small throw away cups right next to the wall with the spouts, but we could not use them. A few people in our group had already ordered their first round, but the rest of us walked out and we didn’t order the food or drinks that we had originally planned. The rest of our group finished their one drink and they left. We will not go back, we will find another place...

Ciders were all mostly dry and all tasted the same. Waitress was the worst. She never came around, brought our 5 meals between a span of 30 minutes, so we couldn't eat together. They were NOT busy either. Then, after everyone got the creamy broccoli soup and I ordered ONLY that for my meal, she told me that they had run out of soup. The soup was not creamy and needed salt, which they did not have on the tables. The Cole saw with the pulled pork sandwich was the worst ever. It had no flavor and seemed like they just chopped cabbage. The waitress was asked to bring more sauce for it and she never did. The place was a bunch of mismatched chairs and tables outdoors and is not appealing but looks like a flea market. Don't waste your time at this place. I haven't had worse food and service than...

A not so new hidden gem. I’ve been going up to Kaleva for 22 years and just discovered Northern Natural Cider this past Memorial Day weekend. I ordered a flight and the cider I tasted was really good. The Northern Gold and the Blueberry waffle are top notch. They have food trucks available. We did order lunch and our food was delicious. There is a very large outdoor area to sit and enjoy your drinks. We chose to sit inside at the bar. Service was excellent. This place was very very busy and there was only one girl there doing everything. I wish I could remember her name. This was on Sunday 5/26. She was like Superwoman. The only thing I wasn’t crazy about were the chairs at the bar. I also fell backwards twice and they are very uncomfortable to sit on and at. I will be going back next time...
