We enjoyed our stop at the Backwoods Moonshine Museum as part of the Kentucky Moonshine Trail. The facility is small but has a lot of interesting displays at the Beattyville location. We wish we could have visited when the owners were there to tell us more about the artifacts on display but the owner's father gave us an interesting visit.

Definitely off the beaten path but this little Historic Museum is worth the trip. Genuine bootlegger artifacts and the most entertaining curators of a museum I have ever been to. If you were ever in the area this is definitely worth the trip. I am told they do not even lock the doors, so people can let themselves in.

Today we visited the museum and we learned alot about moonshining plus about history of this area. The scenery of the drive was beautiful. Donnie and Teresa are blessed everytime they come out of there house to the views they have from there property. Much to learn by going here and Donnie really explained alot to us. We want to go back again already and just got back home. We recomended this museum to everybody...
