USE EXTREME CAUTION IF YOU SHOP HERE, OR BETTER YET AVOID THE STORE. My daughter purchased a stone ring and a couple of hours later when she grabbed a door handle the ring shattered. I contacted the store and explained what happened and ask if we can exchange it for something else. I was told that they tell ALL their customers that the rings are stone and fragile and can break easily. This is a complete lie, I stood next to my daughter as she purchased the ring and they happily took her money and NEVER said anything about how fragile the item was. This seems to be a bit of a scam, you buy stuff that will easily break and don’t tell anyone how fragile it is and don’t stand behind what you sell.
They don’t stand behind the products they sell, they don’t have any signs informing customers, and they don’t allow exchanges. If they had informed us then my daughter could have made an informed decision. If they stood behind their products and allowed a return they would have made a bigger sale as she would not have repurchased the ring and purchased something else she wanted.
I get the feeling based on the conversation I had with the store that they are really care about income and not customer service.
Just used caution if you shop here, ask questions about quality and returns. Based on my experience they are not up front with this information.
Follow up : when I spoke with someone from the store I ask they would do an exchange and was told how they break in an hour or a day. I said so you won’t let us return it purchase something else, I was rudely told NO, as the persons voice began to get louder and louder. I said I might just dispute the charge and the person again became more angry and get even louder. As he became louder and more angry and he refused to allow us to return the item and purchase something different, I didn’t want to get into an argument with him and get yelled at I did hang up. Again no one explained or were there any signage that these items could break...
Read moreIt has always been a highlight of our trip up north to stop at this wonderful shop. However I am so disappointed with its owners this time. I usually stop to by some beautiful rock to gift and encourage our young grandchildren to continue collecting rocks. This time while discussing it with the owner I had grabbed some Galena and let him know that that's what I was going to be giving to two of my young grandchildren.
It wasn't till I got home and looked up more information on Galena which is a beautiful shiny metalic "rock". I found out it is basically lead. And it is highly toxic even if inhaled. I don't believe that this rock should even be sold let alone the fact that he knew I was going to be gifting it to young children. I feel it was very irresponsible of him. And yes, it was irresponsible of me too not to be looking it up on AI before I bought it. But ,I did not have my phone with me at the time And I did let him know that I was not aware of what it was not had I seenI it before. I told him it was so shiny, that the kids would love it. At that point he should have told me that it was lead and it should not be sold or given...

The Staff/Owner(s): Very Friendly people! I've never been treated that well by someone who I was a stranger to. Something that commonly happens to me that DIDN'T happen while I was there, They DID NOT judge my Fiance and me by our age or appearance or anyone else that was in at either time we were there. They're also very knowledgeable of the things that they have, While I was in they must have happily answered a dozen questions that people had and everything seemed 100% accurate to my knowledge. Great People, Go visit them while you're up on the North Shore!
It would seem that Agates are their specialty. This makes sense being that they're looking out over Lake Superior. If you want to find a nice Agate to remember your trip to Lake Superior by, They have them Rough, Tumbled, Polished, Cut and Carved as well as in...
