I don’t even know where to begin. My mom and I went here for my senior trip and did a section hike partially in the Smokey mountain national park. The trail was challenging but I would give anything to go back. I have never experienced anything like this before. Ever since I left the trail I’ve been planning another trip back. We stayed at a hostel at the end of our trip. The Appalachian truly is magical. We got to experience a little bit of trail magic as well, as I had forgotten my jacket at a previous campsite and another family grabbed it and brought it to the next stop. Somehow we stayed at the same shelter that night and I was mind blown to see they had brought it!! We didn’t see any bears but there was plenty of other wildlife. I would highly recommend anyone who is considering visiting to do it.

I would love to say I love this trail, but from where we started, it was impossible to find where the trail was. And then it crossed I 90 twice and were most of the way up the mountain and we can still hear a lot of traffic. This part is extremely steep. I wonder if other trail heads are actually marked. This one wasn’t marked at all. We found the southern entrance, but no hint of how it went north. There is a turnaround near the entrance. There is a wooden fence that you walk around and keep to the left. There is a picnic table and a little beach. Cross this and then a bridge. Then you were on the trail.

Here's where nature makes us understand our vulnerability in the hands of Earth, there's where we understand the spec we form in the universe and who is really in charge of letting us share Earth. The nature wonders at the end of each path is worth every step of the hike. Not for beginners, Hiking Sticks Highly Recommended and rope, try to visit in groups.

I started in Beacon, NY. Absolutely love Beacon and the Residents were very friendly and helpful. I even met the man who has the NY record, very impressive. Went as far as Mt. Greylock summit and stayed at the Lodge. Met the author of The Message Catcher. Lovely woman with a tragic story. Demonstrating strength and perseverance that can only be admired. I could not have made it as far as I did without the help of many kind souls along the way. Nothing short of angels. A beautiful experience that I am...
