The farm was lovely but it was rather restricted, in that most of the farm was only accessible to children who had signed up for farm classes previously. The areas that were open to everyone were the general store, which was pretty sizable and stocked well, the petting zoo, which was really cute, with baby goats and a rabbit (although it was rather difficult for the children to reach the rabbit), and the house and pony round pen. There were a few cats loose on sight, which were cute to pet as well. However, the parking lot is on the farm's play area, which is convenient, but dangerous as the kids couldn't run freely without concerns of a car nearby, and they had about 3 semi trucks coming in and out of the play/public area, bringing in or moving out shipments, so we had to grab our children a few times in hopes of them not getting hit. They didn't let our kids play in the open field next to the barn because "it's for the kids in the class", even though the children of the class were having their lunch. They also mentioned that they would have their pigs and sheep next month (we visited in April). So overall, it was nice to visit, but I probably won't go back again as there was a little too many restrictions on space, and I was worried about letting my kids run...
Read moreGoogle map led me to the right place. There's a small sign at the front. And there's a parking lot for about 6 or 7 cars in front of stores. It is quiet and pretty place. The store has many kinds of fresh vegetables, flowers, fresh eggs, milks, and other groceries. There are also many animals. They don't show chickens, living upstairs, but you can see cows, goats, sheep, pigs and rabbits. In the petting zone, you can actually touch and feed the animals. It was smaller than I thought, and kind of dark. Goats, sheep, calves, rabbits and a big pig. The pig was sleepingb but the other animals were very friendly. The workers are very nice and kind. You can also see cats moving around and I was able to see and pet small kittens. On their website, they offer many programs for kids, fun classes, and they also bring animals to other places. And there's a large green pastures for a big cow and goats. They provide vegies to feed. It was a nice place to bring your kids for a few hours. Oh, no ice...
Read moreWe love Chip-In Farm, I always shopped there for their fresh eggs, fresh vegetables and their pot pies are amazing. But when I had my son we noticed the petting zoo area. He is three and loves the animals. They allow you to fill a small crate with lettuce, broccoli etc that they put out daily and you can take it and feed the cows, sheep, goats, bunnies and the enormous pig! The family and staff are great and when their goats had babies they notified people and last April my son was able to see about 8 tiny baby goats, it wss amazing. It's a great free activity you can do with kids and it's great because you can go for 20 minutes or an hour, and their...
