My husband's work bought tickets for all of their employees and their families. However it was not worth the extra money for food, drinks, tickets, etc.... food was really expensive and not even that good... except for the BBQ.... a lot of space but not really much to do, especially for older kids over like 10 or so. Pumpkins were also expensive as were items sold inside the cabin. Actually spent the majority of our time just walking around doing nothing but enjoying the breeze! Finally decided to get a pumpkin early just to have something to do. Finally after at least 30-45 mins, ALL of my family of 6, finally found pumpkins of choice. Then after carrying all of these back to the cabin, we were told that pumpkins weren't covered as part of our "package" from my husband's work. Ok, no problem, we'll just pay for them- so we were thinking anyway, but not for long.... it was going to be a ridiculous amount to purchase all 6 of our pumpkins. We were going to end up paying way over double the amount that 6 pumpkins would have costed at the supermarket!!! So we ended up having to leave them, and see the sad faces of our kids because they couldn't keep their pumpkin that they worked so eagerly to find!! It broke my heart!! But I couldn't pay over $60-75 for 6 pumpkins!! So we just had to leave everything behind and ended up going to Walmart to purchase them. Even though our entrance price was prepaid, I still wish we had never gone! Complete waste of time and effort and my babies still ended up sad and without a pumpkin!! Definitely will not be...
Read moreI've been a couple of times and generally enjoyed myself. My husband and I are child-free, so a lot of the activities are of no interest to us. But we go with a group of friends that do have kids, so the company is good.
I recommend only going if the weather is genuinely enjoyable. That's an obvious thing to say, but I can't emphasize it enough. Once you're there, you're basically at the mercy of the weather. Both years I've gone in October and had completely different weather. Last year it was warm and sunny — almost too hot. This year it was cold, overcast, and blustery. I ended up not staying long.
I also recommend specifically checking the weather at this location if you don't live nearby. I live in Wichita and it was A LOT windier at the pumpkin patch than it was at home. I would have dressed much differently if I'd realized a thirty-minute drive could make such a difference. (I've lived in KS over 10 years. I really should have known better. 🤦🏻♀️)
If you have kids, they'll have a blast. If you don't have kids, go with friends. The rat race and slides are fun for adults. The zip-lines are children only. The corn maze was only 3-4' high this year, so it was good for small kids. The tweens in our group were...
Read moreThis is my favorite pumpkin patch to take my children! I love that once you pay to get in, all (but one or two) of the activities are free. My kids love all the items to play of, from the bouncy "pillow" to the playground equipment and corn crib. There is something for everyone! We can easily spend three or four hours here! They have a concessions stand, but I've never purchased food there. We hosted my daughter's birthday party there and had a great time! The prices on the pumpkins seem a little steep at 55 cents/lb. When your kids pick a 20+ lb pumpkin, the price adds up quickly. You can get good deals on small pumpkins and gourds, however. It's fun taking the hay rack ride out to the patch. I also love that they are able to take credit and debit cards since I dont usually keep cash on me. Entry is a little pricey, $9/person, but there is a lot to do. There are always a lot of people out there, so keep a very close eye on your little ones. I wouldn't mind a little more added security when entering and exiting for safety's sake. Otherwise, a wonderful place that we'll continue going to for many...
