This is a really nice walking, running, and biking trail. At times there are excellent views of the Passagassawakeag River and other times you're surrounded by dense foliage. The trail is primarily crushed stone on top of compressed earth with some wooden bridges and areas with wood mulch. A hybrid or mountain bike would easily traverse this trail. A road bike may be able to ride here, but there are areas that might be dicey (wood mulch). Overall it's a peaceful trail with a beautiful atmosphere. I will definitely be returning...

Great easy walking and biking trail that starts on the walking bridge by McCrums factory in downtown Belfast. About 4 miles out and back starting from the bridge. A few places along the way with benches and a picnic table. Beautiful views of the river a.k.a. beaver tail. Easy enough for all ages to enjoy. Dog friendly but remember to pick up...

This rail trail is pretty nice, mainly flat with some rises and dips along the way.

Scenery along the river that it follows is pretty amazing. There are also many information plaques to stop and read.

At one end there's a town, at the other a train depot with some old trains to explore and a train station. Some awesome photos to be taken...

Well-groomed, easy walking path. Wheelchairs & biking. Restrooms at both ends. Add on the Harbor Trail & Footbridge (all the way up to U.S. Rte.1) and you can scrounge 6.5 miles out of it. Working waterfront, the river, bridges, picnic areas.... Parking at multiple way points.

Despite walking this trail and getting caught in a pretty decent thunderstorm when I reached the other end in downtown Belfast, I still enjoyed it. It's a super easy walk and you can also walk through an operational boat yard pending they aren't moving anything too big around.
