Don’t miss this stop in Clearfield County PA. 📍McGees Mills Covered Bridge This is the only covered bridge remaining in Clearfield County and over any branch of the Susquehanna River.

The Only Surviving Covered Bridge Over All the Susquehanna River Branches! Why isn't this Bridges photo on more of Visit PA brochures, booklets,, website advertising or Bucket Lists sites I don't get. There's an old abandoned RR line where the parking is, I'd love to see photos of the area with a train next to the bridge. I love old rr stuff.

This was a very pleasant bridge to visit. It is a quick and easy detour off Route 219. There is plenty of parking on either side of the bridge, and there is a nice picnic area and spots to fish on the northeast side of the bridge.

Aside from being the rare covered bridge, McGees Mills Bridge is the only remaining covered bridge over any branch of the Susquehanna River. The bridge is well maintained and is in great shape. There's also a small picnic area for visitors to enjoy watching the West Branch of the Susquehanna flow by. As for photography, Covered Bridge Road allows for nice shots of the north side; the south side is limited by woods and private property. Overall, this is a bridge...
