This was my first concert visit. They don't allow you to go to your car after you've entered unless it's raining. Food prices are astronomical the event goes on all day and into the night. You're not allowed to bring an umbrella or a chair in a carrying case. I don't get it, why would you want to listen to a famous band only to see them looking like 2 in tall. Even the screen only showed one or two people out of the band you're in full sun all day long. I will never go to an outdoor concert again. if it wasn't for the odd vehicle parked in front of us it would have been very difficult to find our vehicle. Theres no markers in the area to identify your location. You're trapped there, you have to eat food from a vendor. One vendor said they had tacos, but all they had was chicken and cheese quesadillas commas the guy I went with brought me back a plain cheese quesadilla nothing on it but she's in a tortilla for 15 dollars. You're allowed to bring in two 15 oz water bottles. As if it wasn't a crazy amount of money by spending $200 for one single ticket they want to force you to buy food from vendors to. They only had porta potties no way to wash your hands. Going into a porta potty touching all kinds of things and eating food it's ludicrous and very unsanitary. They charge that kind of money and I can't bring in a truck with porta potties like...
Read moreNice grounds, plenty of space. Running a show office is extremely difficult at this location since there is so little mobile tower coverage. Could not take chip card reader payments, access online tools, etc. due to poor signal there. Explained to them that they need an internet provider with a number of high gain antennas around the property to make up for lack of mobile coverage.
Rental fees are very high for what you get. Fee schedule is absolutely loaded with fees for every little tiny extra thing they can think of to charge for. It reads more like the surcharges section of your phone bill than a rental contract.
Grounds/maintenance guy is great. Checks in many times a day, even with multiple events on the grounds. Office staff on the other hand seem like they were just randomly hired one day to fill a hole. Not the level of professionalism you would expect for such a facility with such prices. I might tolerate such management if it was somebody's back yard. Nobody on the property truly understands the PA system they have. I had to completely rewire the main control box and change the settings myself when it kept malfunctioning all weekend.
In a nut shell, if you are a spectator or going to attend an event, you will love it. If you are the producer/promoter/manager of an...
Read moreIf you like watching a variety of horse events and meeting nice, friendly people then the Florida Horse Park is worth checking out. I was there yesterday to watch the Western Dressage event since I have an Arabian mare I'm training to do that. While watching, I was surprised to see a big Pony Club Event happening in another area. Then I heard the sound of cows mooing and couldn't believe my good fortune!
A big cutting event was happening in the covered arena...now THAT was fun to watch! Since I've never seen horses cutting cattle live (just on TV) in my home state of Maine, I asked the people sitting near me how the scoring worked and they happily obliged. After they left, the couple sitting in front of them, who had overheard our conversation, continued to fill me in on the nuances. What a delightful afternoon, and you didn't have to be a pro to recognize when you saw a brilliant horse and rider cutting a calf from the herd..simply awesome, they were as good as Australian Shepherd dogs herding sheep!
The Horse Park has grown and developed beautifully in the three years we've been in Ocala, I am delighted with all the different...
