I had an amazing hiking experience recently on the Florida Trail, trekking almost 12 miles from the 49th Ave. trailhead to Santos. The trail was impressively well-maintained, and despite being a hilly terrain (for Florida), it offered an incredible hiking experience. The trail was mostly shaded by the trees, which made the hike comfortable and enjoyable. Though I encountered a few people, it was not overly crowded for a weekend day. However, somebody else on the trail talked me into taking a shortcut, which unfortunately turned out to be a mistake and ended up lengthening my hike. Therefore, I would strongly recommend sticking to the trail. All in all, it was a fantastic day, and I would definitely recommend the Florida Trail to any hiking enthusiasts out there! #FloridaTrail #Hiking #Nature #Adventure #Trailblazing #TrailRecommendations #Santos #HikeFlorida #NatureLovers #ocalaflorida #reviews #review...

It is a nice central location in Marion County with a decent amount of parking and some picnic tables to sit at, but please can we get this paved. Land Bridge and Santos are both paved, and for some reason this isn't. The problem is that with all the rain we have had, it's caused these gigantic potholes. I went down into one accidentally as my line of sight was a bit blocked by a large truck so I didn't see it until it was too late. It could cause a lot of damage to someone's car trying to maneuver around the holes. So yes it is a really nice trailhead, but be careful when driving around the...

I took this as a there-and-back hike from 49th Ave Trailhead to the Land Bridge Trailhead, for 8 total miles. Don't be put off by full parking lot if you prefer solitude while hiking - most of the visitors are biking, and they have a separate trail. The trail offers a great sense of solitude for being in town, and a nice surprise was short but steep hills and ravines, unusual in the region. Due to those, consider it a moderate hike, but the sand is well packed and easy. Very enjoyable, and the land bridge makes a fun destination by...

Had absolutely wonderful time. Great landscape of many different varieties. Saw quite a bit of wildlife even got some good videos of deer. Made it all the way down the South Trail and back will be taking the North Trail the next time and also starting at Shangri-La to continue my journey across the greenway I have traveled from the tip of this Trail all the way East to Ocala Sharps Ferry Road and I will make it all the way to the gulf and all the way to the other side follow me for my journey
