Β Β Β Read moreProbably one of the best beach parks on all Lake Washington. It has a little bit of everything for everyone. The park is fairly secluded despite it's proximity to 405 I-90 Renton & Bellevue. There is ample free parking in two large paved lots and one gravel lot. There is a gazebo close to the entrance by the parking lot with multiple barbecue pits and six to eight picnic tables the tables are under cover. There is a large semi enclosed play area with many big toys such as slides, bars, swings, and even a locamotive for kids to play on. There are two more additional BBQ's available to use on the NW corner of the park along with 4-6 tables and a smaller sandy beach area lined with old pier logs approximately 15 feet off the shore which breaks up any waves or wakes and makes for a nice swim area for young kids. The main swimming area is directly centered on the West facing side of the park. The swim area is very large and has a lifeguard chair right in the middle. The swim area has 200 feet of Sandy Beach, a floating dock, and is enclosed within an L-shaped Pier structure jutting out to the south. The pier is very well built, made of concrete and steel and even those with water phobias will feel safe and grounded due to the pier's size and elevated position above the water level of the lake. Behind the lifeguard station are the bathrooms, housed in there own building with half the men's and the other half women's. The restrooms are spacious, with multiple stalls, sinks and dryers. Usually, you'll find that the bathrooms are well looked after and in pretty good condition. To the south of the pier is another stretch of waterfront Beach, and bordered by large swaths of forest and fauna. With 10 ft of sand on its shoreline the south beach runs the length of the SW side of the park. You can get to the South Beach by walking West and then heading south or cutting through the trailheads that surround the wooded area on the SW side of the park. To get to the SW beach you need simply walk towards the roundabout near the parking lot exit and follow the signs. The path is an easy level 200 yard walk that meanders along forested walking trail, over a few elevated wooden walk ways before arriving to the beach access. You...

Pull the flower clumps sorta apart for the surprise of beautiful almost batik-ish colors that you woulda never guessed would be inside- periwinkle blue, turning to violet, turning to the most gorgeous maroon shade. Be considerate about how you do it and the man who tends the grounds here told me I could cut all the blossoms i wished.
This park also has a unique row of old support posts for a long gone dock which are unique because each has a several foot tall seedling tree now flourishing atop each one. Its like a demonstration of the circle of life, new life springing forth from old lifelessness... And at sundown, the sunset is directly across lake washington and makes a perfect backdrop for the baby trees. You just gotta go and see for yourselves!
This is my absolute fav park on this side of the mountains for sure! I β€...
