Benicia Community Park — Attraction in Benicia

I love this park, don't get me wrong. Yes, there is a but. The playground is fantastic, with many ways to keep kids occupied. There are several places to sit, and chill, as well as walk. There's several long paths that cross, and circle the park, along with my favorite part, the steep, winding path that contours the hills behind the park, leading you to gorgeous lake Herman.

Another feature of the park, is the doggy play area. Don't get too worried about your little tiny doggo, because there's a big, and small dog area. If you feel active, channel your inner skater boi and go to the skate park. I don't personally skate, but it looks good enough to do a sick kick flip yo (sorry bout that). Lastly there's a ice skating ring.. what?? I mean, ok then. So 5/5 yayy, except not so much. Everything is great; aside from the largely maskless crowds that tend to be here now days. It's a hecking ( because of government regulations and whatever ) cesspool of an unnamed virus. Unless you want to contract said virus, then I'd recommend you don't come here. This was my first time visiting the dog park area. My dogs loved the park. The people who were also there, were very nice. I am a local business owner(Mobile Identity Services LLC in Suisun City...Live Scan Fingerprinting and Notary Services) and I try to make sure my girls visit the dog park once a day. We have two that we frequent, but we will add this location to our list.

There is a small dog park area adjacent to the large park. However, I did not see any trees and it is much smaller. We stayed in the larger area. In the beginning, I did not know you can drive past the parking lot and park near the dog park. I highly request putting signs up. This slide is my childhood, the most fun thing for any children in benicia, note when people say "this big slide park" this is the park they mean. It has a wonderful dog park 🐕 and a trail that leads to lake Hurman, and is wonderful. It also has 3 baseball fields and a softball feild, and a scare rink. In the winter the boy scouts are here to help benicia get rid of the Christmas trees and they leave a pile of wood chips that are free so if you need them bring a bucket and pick some up. But be careful coming around 3:00 as the elementary school gets out then and you will be stuck there for some time, and swarmed by small children.
