heyyy it’s ya boi tristan with another review!!!! if youre expecting something unusual today then sorry as there is nothing here to find. i’m just tired. this time we are looking at lake herman a completely normal park. this park is awesomeeee with the sights you can see. first I love how you can barely see the patk itself as you drive down the road!!! love this for when you are waiting for someone to arrive and they make this one mistake and you have to wait for this porky to get to the park. anyway after waiting an eternity I gasee upon the surroundings. the bench was awesome with the intricate carvings, which I decided to add some of my own!!!! I also liekd the abandoned buildings nearby whihh VH is a great place to hide things!!! anyway we headed down the path and saw a treasure (which wae already grabbed last update as the update wansn’t that libg ago) and we continued down the path and it was a very long walk with a bunch of dirt. there was also this guy who was taking a picture of a bench. still not sure why he was doing that. then we walked down and was this old sewer thingy that had a bunch of different graffiti around it. also people fought. then we went to see some trees and the trees were alright as we were just looking at them from the distance. the lake was also very shiny and very hard to look at because of how reflective it really was (it was really reflective). there were a bunch of bugs also so I had to flail mu arms around for that sole purpose. then we stopped because my somebody didn’t was to show that they were lying. then we went back and saw this awesome stoner guys. he lookked like a guy we knew. automatically made this a 5 star. then we left and went hoem. nothing eventful happend and it certainly was not with the main story group. alright. before I leave I need to guve you a name. I don’t think I can survive without giving yohr ome. what about granger. I’ll see you later granger. tristan - out!!!!

bonus story there once was a worm who had grown large enough by working its body it was cut and it grew apart...

A neat little dam and lake between Vallejo and Benicia. Hiking and fishing are popular at the lake. Right at the lake is a trail which leads right into Benicia. On Lake Herman Road are several closed access roads to ranches and a dairy next to the road. Coming in from Vallejo use caution as that 45mph goes to 35mph just before the SYAR quarry gate. Then the 55mph after the 35mph is also misleading as you get to the dairy and ought to slow down for farmers and cows crossing the road. Right after the dairy are several sharp turns. You no sooner pull out of that and you're nearing the park entrance which you ought to watch for cars and people...especially kids. Another slow turn past the park. Two small hills. The second ought to emphasize reduced speed at dip for it's a drainage ditch with a horrible pipe to drive over. As you come up the hill keep your eye on the up coming view. Day or night it's breath taking. Soon you will get to a right turn to the Benicia Indutrial Park on an awful very narrow road. You will also see a plant up on a huge hill on the right side. Proceeding straight takes you to I-680. Be careful as lane indication is slight as you near the freeway. It's very difficult to discern at night. Northgate Church is to the left. You'll see the freeway ahead. On your left is the reserve...

Lots of space so you can be around people or not. Good place to play sports. No basketball, but frisbee golf, skate park, baseball soccer volleyball and inline hockey. Adequate bathrooms. Great play area for kids. Large BBQ area. Dogs on leash, but Benicia is very dog friendly and I've seen old, calm dogs off leash when the park isn't crowded. There are two dog parks, for big dogs or small dogs. The big-dog park is popular. Spacious, shady, room for frisbee or ball playing and tunnels. Nobody uses the small-dog park. Even though a small concrete area was put in to level the table, there are sharp thorns growing near the entrance and it is mostly hilly with little shade. Dinged off a star for the bad small-dog park.

The paved trail only goes halfway around Lake Herman and is nearly flat. There are dirt trails up the hills to the East that have a good slope. You can follow them around walled off upper scale neighborhoods on the ridge to a fire trail and get a good 4-5 mile loop in wilder habitat with few people but LOTS of ticks in...

The lake itself is great with a trail/road around it for hiking, walking your dogs, and biking. Families can barbecue at one end and play softball at the other . However the facilities on the Vallejo side (lake Herman Road) is really bad. The bathrooms are porta potties but only one is open. The other has 2 padlocks on it!?? It looks like it hasn't been cleaned in months. The water fountain hasn't worked in probably more than 5 years at least since I've been going there. It seems like all the effort has been put on to the Benicia side of the lake, where there is a dog park with working water fountains and several ball fields with manicured greens. There's even a Frisbee Golf Course on the Benicia side. Even the trail/road around the lake on the Vallejo side mainly is cracked, uneven, and in need of repaving. COME ON, City of Benicia! The park has your name on it and yet you're not taking care of it properly all the way around. #cityofbenicia

This place is dog friendly! The one downside is the small parking lot, but if you park in benicia community park, it’s a short walk over to lake herman where they connect. There are gorgeous displays of wildflowers (blue bonnets, poppies, purple owl clover, and some other unfortunately invasive albeit pretty ones). Lots of areas to explore, especially if you visit the park which has playgrounds and picnic tables. I’ve seen otters and turtles in the lake, so cute.
