Sarett Nature Center — Attraction in Benton Charter Township

Fabulous fantastic and amazing are not even fair adjectives to describe this fantastic place. For adults it cost three dollars to get in and five dollars to go to the butterfly exhibit which was well worth it The indoor exhibits of the turtles, and owl our great indoor activity, and looking out the window at the birds was really wonderful. Our friends were from Savannah and had never seen so many of the birds that we have and we had a visit from a chipmunk and a groundhog while we were there making it even more special. The outdoor trails are super fun, well marked and a true treasure. We followed the trails and enjoyed the tree tops trail and even passed an adorable shaded playground on the way. Then, we did the river trail which has wooden planking throughout the marsh and got to enjoy the prairie plants. Coming back to the main building, they then take you across the parking lot to this wonderful butterfly enclosure, and we saw so many butterflies that we’ve never seen before – it was such a treat. I thought when I moved by the Sarrett Nature Center it was going to be great but after being woke up on several occasions by loud cars coming out of their parking lot at late evening hours and during the morning plus people going into their parking lot when it is dark because they choose to leave their gates open 24/7 it is horrible! I have had on several occasions people parking on my grass and damaging it so plus some of their guests staring at us when we are in the yard! Who want headlights coming through their windows,not us! We bought lined curtains so no more headlights and we put up a fence so that has helped! In the past three years there has been so many issues and they have been brought to the Directors attention but she chooses to do nothing! All we have asked her to do is close the gates at dusk but she refuses to do it! They need to be respectful of our neighborhood and start being a good neighbor and not a bad neighbor! It is so hard to even get a good nights sleep when all this is going on! Hopefully the Director will choose to do the right thing so our neighborhood can be...

I had a much better time here than I had expected.

I went there with my mom and brother and his two kids, and this place is super cool.

TRAILS They have some trails that you can walk along, and they have this really long Boardwalk that's basically like a hundred feet up in the air that is pretty cool to look out from.

BUTTERFLIES They have this giant butterfly house area where you can walk in there and there are like 20 kinds of butterflies just everywhere, and relaxing music.

I think it might be three or five dollars per person to go into the butterfly area but other than that I'm pretty sure everything is free.

REPTILES AND OWLS Indoors they have a ton of reptile exhibits like turtles and snakes and they took the snake out to let my brother's kid pet it. They also had owls in there and it was really awesome because they were really tiny owls and it was cool.

MERCH They also have some pretty cool merchandise like water bottles and shirts and different natural pesticide soap and...
