My family and some friends visited on Sunday. We had 2 teens and 2 small children. We arrived just after they opened.
This place has so much potential. So, I want to start with good.
It was clean, everyone was very nice, plenty of options for activities. The full size go carts performed very well and were a lot of fun. The zip line manager (Chadly) was great and very helpful and good with our 4 year old.
Please understand this is our experience in hopes they correct things.
We purchased day passes for all the kids, as well as a single cart ride for adults ($186 total) Our first stop was the kid go carts. They have 3 carts, we were told 2 needed charging (They had just opened, so why weren’t they charged the night before?). Then, the only one that worked had a big safety issue. The throttle and brakes did not work. So when the employee (who appeared to be 13 or younger) turned it on, it just took off and wouldn’t stop until he chased it down and flipped the switch off. Then, because he was the only worker for several of the attractions, he asked us to turn off the cart after 6 laps so he could help guest elsewhere. So now we have guest on the track with a go cart that doesn’t stop and a 4 year old at the wheel.
Next, we went to bumper cars. Same employee working basically the whole place (not his fault by the way) They had 3 cars. And again, only 1 worked. Well… what fun is bumper cars when there’s no one else to bump.
Teens went to Gellyball. They have 30 something guns but had trouble finding 2 working to play. Same employee… also shot the teens in the legs so they knew how it felt first (I personally find this funny, however, the wrong person won’t. And I can’t imagine they want their employees shooting guest before they are on the field.).
So, we went to the large slide. Same employee…. Who just told us to do what we needed to do there because he had to help other attractions. So no attendant on a 20’ tall slide with kids up and down it? The blankets were full of large holes and the slide has not been maintained to keep it slippery. So with the holes in the blankets and lack of maintenance, the kids barely make it to the bottom without stopping.
At this point we about ready to ask for a partial refund and walk out. But chose to give them a chance to correct it, because they were very nice. They agreed to transfer out day passes to game room tokens, whole group gets a round on the big carts, and 2 zip lines passes. We agreed that was acceptable.
Now we are in the game room, which is very nice. Also has air conditioning! Immediately, we noticed many games with “out of order signs”. Not a good start. Out of 26 games, 11 were out of order. We chose to just finish out our tokens with what they had available and leave.
Our issue is, what we experienced, and got to do, DID NOT equal the value of nearly $200. No where close. This was our first time here. And will likely be our last. But hopefully they can take this review constructively and make the corrections to have a great place for family...
Read moreI just wanted to let everybody know how accommodating and wonderful Kentucky Shores Family Fun Center and Zip Lines is. I was able to call them and get my niece and me in (who was very excited to go onto a zip line). They were very willing to open even in the winter season. We are longtime customers and have been going there for the last four years. They get better every year! Now they are remodeling and getting lots more new things at their amusement park next door. It has been incredible for my niece to grow with the park!
But today we were excited to go on the zip line so we called and they were very willing to open up just for us. When we arrived, they greeted us with a smile and made sure we were both comfortable and at ease. When we were getting ready to zip line they made sure to tell my niece several different jokes as well as safety tips for the zip lines ahead. It was her first time zip lining and she is only 5 years old. The guides had her so at ease and excited to go. We were ready to climb up the ladder with the fire truck to begin our zip line adventure. And if you're like me and everybody else we love to take pictures. One of our friends was able to take pictures and videos of us as we went along. The guides offered to take a few pictures for us using my phone. The zip lining was very affordable. It was about $110 for my niece and myself to go zip lining for almost 2 hours. That not only made memories of a lifetime but it was affordable as well. Every moment was worth every cent!! Once we were done zip lining my niece looked at me and said that she wore her fairy wings while zip lining and this is a joke between the two of us that we will treasure forever!
The equipment, as well as the guides, were very modern and up-to-date. It let us feel secure enough to use our fairy wings and fly and we did! No worries or concerns about anything and we were able to make another lifetime memory at Kentucky Shores! I can't thank them enough for helping us make our story even better. They were wonderful! I would recommend them with five stars. I have been zip lining at several other places, and while good, Kentucky Shores has the personal touch, kindness and caring to put them above the rest. We will definitely be going back again and I would recommend them to anybody. We had so much fun and again, the affordability, the safety, the knowledge and the demeanor of the guide is what will bring us back again. We are very excited about the renovations and the remodeling they're doing to the Kentucky Shores Amusement Park and now when we go we can add zip lining to our adventure days!!
Thank you to everybody who helped make our magical adventure day happen and we are very grateful for the last 4 years...
Read moreWe pulled up to this place that is suppose to be fun and exciting but instead looked run down and in shambles. Since we already drove there we decided to see what they had to offer. Now let me start off with the staff here was polite and the gentleman that ran the go carts today made it a lot of fun. But we got here and a majority of the attractions were closed like the zip line, rock wall and the hurricane. The go cart track though fun had an extremely rough track, the bumper boat water was so gross it left spots on your clothes when you got shot with water from the little built in water guns on the boats and when we got on the boats and asked how we get them to go in the direction we wanted we were told good luck, they were slow and not much fun. Next we did the mini golf course it was fun but again very run down and had pools of stagnant water with slime ontop of it as part of the decor. Once we finished we were going to do the arcade games inside but definitely didn’t look like it was worth the money especially since we felt the 60 dollars we spent for the 3 of us to do go carts mini golf and bumper boats was an absolute rip off. This place definitely has potential to be a place to go and have some fun they just need to invest some money into the overall look, feel and maintenance...
