It is a beautiful rock beach. There is a single line of parking which is well kept. In front of that is a row of concrete tables with attached seating. This area is about 30 or 40 feet wide and runs the full length of the designated beach area. The rock beach is starts and consists of large and medium smooth rocks. It's about 10 to 20 ft wide and runs the shoreline for quite a ways outside of the designated area. The last 2 ft into the water is small smooth pebbles that sink a bit when stepped on. It not but you can lose your balance if you aren't paying attention. Also the rocks are small enough that they can get in your water shoes. Water shoes on the beach are highly recommended.
The average amount of leftover trash from previous visitors varies but the parking lot is always at least a 1/4 full and stays pretty busy. There is an onsite dumpster that appears to be emptied regularly. I've never seen it more that half full.
Note this is a lake beach and dead fish do wash up on the shoreline usually further down. The smell can be off-putting but normally isn't a problem. You will often find fish bones scatted along the rocky beach but they are usually picked clean by local fauna....

The beach is fairly small, and the crowd was pretty rowdy and there were a weird amount of people smoking cigarettes and one group smoking something else, so my family got to enjoy lots of smells in the air including a large, dead catfish rotting on one of many piles of trash and discarded bottles. There were also tons of boats speeding by not far from shore, creating waves that might be fun for some, but made it a constant challenge to take a toddler into the water without a wave catching his face.
In hindsight, a weekend was a poor choice, but I don’t think I’d go back even on a...
Read moreThis park has been rebuilt following a tornado and has changed in appearance. A lot of the shade trees are gone. Some picnic tables have been replaced but I think there are less grills available. The restroom is still a concrete block chemical toilet (no running water or hand sanitation station). The park is well maintained with a dumpster for trash. People do tend to pick up after themselves.
The beach is rock, so shoes are recommended!
