In addition to the beaches, Island Beach State Park has several miles of hiking trails, including the Toms River Bay Trail, which offers stunning views of the bay. There are also several bike trails in the park, making it a great place to go for a bike ride.

If you're looking for a place to fish, Island Beach State Park has a number of fishing spots, including the Barnegat Bay, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Toms River. The park also has a boat launch, so you can bring your own boat and fish from the water.

Birdwatching is another popular activity at Island Beach State Park. The park is home to a variety of birds, including ospreys, egrets, herons, and terns. There is also a bird observation platform located in the park, which makes it easy to see the birds without disturbing them.

Whether you're looking for a day at the beach, a hike in the woods, or a fishing trip, Island Beach State Park has something to offer everyone. The park is well-maintained and clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. If you're looking for a beautiful and relaxing place to enjoy the outdoors, Island Beach State Park is a great option.

Overall, Island Beach State Park is a great place to enjoy the outdoors. The park has something to offer everyone, and it's a great place to relax and escape the hustle and bustle of...

Island Beach State Park is surely one of the most beautiful places on Earth. For all the naysayers who look down on New Jersey, one visit to this extraordinary park will forever silence any criticism of the beauty of this place. Island Beach has miles of wide open beaches both on the Atlantic ocean side and the Barnegat Bay side. I have recently been receiving questions about whether Island Beach is a resort or whether there is any hotel type accommodation: the answer is no. What Island Beach provides is nature at its absolute finest and most simple: white sand beaches with remarkably clean water, flora and fauna of every description (my grandkids love to see the foxes and osprey, and marvel that cactus can be found in abundance in the Garden State), and truly breathtaking vistas. Add to this a wonderful and knowledgeable staff, and numbers of people and organizations that dedicate time and resources to the upkeep of this marvelous treasure, and you have the formula for...

Just water, sand, and a bathroom. perfect if you are looking for a beach day. No boardwalk and no place to stay overnight. over 10 miles of beach.

Miles of sand dunes and white sandy beaches offer habitat to maritime plants and diverse wildlife that is almost the same as it was thousands of years ago. Island Beach State Park contains outstanding examples of plant communities such as primary dunes, thicket, freshwater wetlands, maritime forest and tidal marshes. The state's largest osprey colony, as well as peregrine falcons, wading birds, shorebirds, waterfowl and migrating songbirds are found here. Island Beach is nationally known as a unique resource with over 400 plants identified, including the largest expanses of beach heather...
