John C. Bartlett, Jr. County Park at Berkeley Island — Attraction in Berkeley Township

Beautiful State Park on the Bay side. Very well maintained. Great for teaching the young ones how to swim, fish & crab. Public restrooms well maintained. There's a picnic area that has tables with BBQs available for family reunions. Over the years my own children learned to crab via drop lines, fish and just have fun here. The ski-dos like to come here too. Across the way, you can see South .Seaside Park. Many boaters use this area to go in/out to sea. There had been a sidewalk around the perimeter so as to take a nice, lazy stroll around the boarder of this park.( I'm hoping Hurricane Sandy didn't do too much damage to it.) This also goes for the picnic tabled area that was covered by a aluminum overhang for protection from the Sun. Enjoy your days here. But, watch out to the crafty seagulls that love to try & steal your bait and/or any snacks left...

I’m very disappointed today. We came all the way here with my two kids at 630pm because the spray park sprays until 8 o’clock and we get there today and instantly noticed there’s no water spraying and then I see a sign saying that due to water restrictions the spray park will only be open from 10am to 6pm and after driving here for 25 minutes with 2 kids in traffic in a car with an ac that’s not working correctly! It’s just disappointing. And I didn’t think to look online or anything because why would I?cause usually it’s open till eight every night so therefore I didn’t check it but even if I wanted to where would I check it out because nothing’s posted anywhere about the place.. well nothing updated anyway! I hate to sound like a Karen or like an A hole but please do better cause we...

This park was heavely damaged after super storm Sandy. It took much longer than it should have to be repaired and reopened. That said, the local, county and state efforts to properly restore this park where well done and made this park better than the one before the storm. Clean and easy to navigate, this is a good location for young children and people with limited mobility. Very flat and not too big. Plenty of benches and the rest rooms are clean, functional and not vandalized. Please thank a ranger if you visit for keeping this park safe and not vandalized. An excellent location to see the Barnegat Bay and enjoy a nice day. One warning, it can get quite breezy at...
