Ocean Swimming Beach — Attraction in Berkeley Township

Came to this beach as a kid in the 90s and tried bringing my kids recently. I was disappointed. It's still in itself a clean beach with nice waves but the people ruined it. All you could smell was dirty diaper and that's because one family had a few full ones just laying around. The lifeguard was incredibly rude to my son asking for the surf info. Odd because he's only 10 and usually enjoys talking to the lifeguards. The same life guard also was rude to me and my 6 yr old when she was trying to take a picture of a seagull. "We don't do that on the beaches here." Okay sir. Forever a Jersey shore girl but I'll go find seashells and waves...

8.25.23 Beautiful beach which is actually part of Island Beach State Park. This came as a surprise to me! I was searching on Google for beaches close to Seaside and this looked good with great reviews. I don't live in Jersey anymore and it's been a while since I've been down the shore so I just assumed "Ocean Swimming Beach" was a small spot along the shore. Plus it was only a few miles from where we were in Seaside. Took the short drive and it took us to the entrance of IBSP! Pleasant surprise for sure as this is the beach I grew up going to! I love Island State Beach Park! Its quiet and the waters are cleaner than most east coast beaches! There aren't any boardwalks, which can viewed as a downside if you're looking for activities, but with that, it lives room for attendees to have a personal experience with nature and their party. They have a place to shower and get changed (which unfortunately are hovered around with flies and mosquitoes that bite and annoy the heck out of you.) As well as a place to eat.
