Pros: wide trail beautiful well maintained ~2.1 miles from car around pond and back to car scenic cons: horse poop poison ivy if you go off trail This is a great walk. You'll usually encounter people walking there dogs here. It is also a place that has plenty of open spaces allowing you to keep away from the poison ivy (which is EVERYWHERE in MA). Has a couple of hills but a relatively easy hike.

We love to bring our dog to Gates Pond! It’s a nearly 2.5 mile loop around. Generally it’s very peaceful and many others walk their dogs there (or walk or run themselves) as well. A great place to socialize your pup or just get some good exercise with a beautiful view all the way around!

A great trail that kids really enjoy too. It’s a mostly flat, dry loop around a very scenic lake and can be done in less than an hour. Great hiking or snowshoeing. Very convenient too. Right off route 495.

There is 2.4 mi "road" around the pond which is mostly dirt but there are a few sections with some old pavement. Some offshoot trails exist although I've never explored them myself. There are a few hills but nothing too big. It's a great place to walk, run, bike and I've even seen horses (and evidence of). It is dog friendly but dogs are supposed to be leashed. The pond is used for water supply so you are supposed to pick up all dog waste anywhere near the water. I have seen people fishing there. Swimming is not allowed. It is often very busy on...
