Read moreAMAZING FAMILY GETAWAY CHEAP! Our family took a chance and booked a cabin at this state park for ATV Fest weekend. The cabins are very basic (but $50 per night is a AMAZING price!) and they offer two bunks beds and a queen size futon which was comfy. Everything was super clean. There are solar powered lights - but that's it. There are NO plugs or lighting other than one single indoor ceiling fan light (and the fans do not operate). Plenty of windows will keep you cool. The site came with a fire pit and fold over fire grill and a picnic table. The lake was unreal - crystal clear water with sand bottom and panoramic views of the mountain range in the background. Small playground with swings and beach fire pit. The bathhouse was very clean and large. Cold showers are free but if you want some warm water be sure to bring change ($1 per 6 minutes). This campground is very close (about 15 minutes) from Walmart and a very populated town center. Plenty of gas, Dunkin Donuts, and small food shops. Close to Twin Mountain and about 30 minute ride to Glen Ellis Falls and the Mt. Washington Auto Road (which cost us $60 just to drive up which was outrageous and I was NOT happy about. Thankfully we got a good deal on our cabin so we could afford it.) The campground was quite at night time and ATV's are welcome at the camp and they have trails for the ATV's which are some of the best I have seen in the state. If you are looking for affordable cabins for a family trip close to the touristy stuff this is your best bet. I HIGHLY recommend this campground and we cant...
Read moreWe just recently camped for 5 days here. Friendly staff, spectualr bath house very clean. Great trails and most kid friendly. We had our two 8 year old grandsons with us and they were able to ride there dirtbikes easily. Beautiful views. My only complaint is we booked online for four adults and two children. The online site gave me a total and that's what I paid. However it did not give me the right total. The online site does not charge you the $10 a night per adult. I did not know this so when I checked I was told I owed another $80. My reservation clearly stated 4 adults and two children. The woman at the campground was great about the hole situation. However I do believe that this should be corrected with the online booking site so people are charged correctly. So my complaint is not directly with the campground it's the online booking however the statepark are the ones whom should correct the error. Beautiful campground we loved it the kids loved it. We would definitely do it again. Campsite #6 is a beautiful site very secluded and plenty of privacy. No direct parking on site but that didnt pose an issue at all, that's why you have wheelers right?...
