Hungerford Nature Centers was the perfect spot to beat the winter blues. Some of our favorite things: ❄️ Adorable Animals- chickens, Guinea pigs, ducks, goats, and more! ❄️ Hands on Exploration Stations- experiment with wind, magnets, gears, and more. ❄️ Sand and rock tables where you can dig for dinosaurs ❄️ Dramatic play stations where you can dress up as different wildlife roles (my kids especially loved pretending to be beekeepers!) ❄️ A huge playground, trails and more! It’s free with a library pass and offers one of the best membership deals in the state. They also do tons of events- up next is February 8, they’re hosting a huge winter festival - we’re talking s’mores, cocoa, crafts, nature walks and so much more. #ctvisit #hungerfordnaturecenter #newbritainct #kensingtonct

Literally so many things to do here! The museum has a great selection of things and it can be a great learning experience for young kids. They have many cute animals both inside and outside in the barn. Sometimes I take my little brother and we feed the goats and cow carrots, apples, and strawberries which they absolutely LOVE They also have a nice trail next to the museum which is nice (I believe the longest route is a mile long) but when I went sometime in June there were SO many bugs. I don't think that is something that can be controlled so just make sure you bring bug spray! You will definitely need it. In the small kiddy park section with the butterfly garden and small pond they also have a little free library, so any children's books you might have but do not need you can donate there.

We loved our visit. Lots for little scientists (toddlers and older kids!) to explore. - Lots of hands-on displays with bones, rocks, furs, etc. - Indoor play area with things like blocks, scarves, magnets, sand table - Live animals - cows, goats, hawks, owls, chickens, geese, bunnies, lizards, turtles, frogs, snakes... - Playground -Butterfly garden and pond -Picnic area

I just want to say I thank God for this place. I found a new-born baby bird in my backyard yesterday morning. I couldn't bring it to them that moment because I had to work. However, I phoned when I got through at 4:00 and was told they close at 4:30. I really pleaded and asked if they could do me a favor and wait until I arrived with the baby bird. They said yes! I was so happy and grateful

l. When I arrived a little late, they were waiting for me. The animal specialist took the little bird and assured me he should be alright. I wish I had more money to donate, but I was thankful I had something in my wallet to give.I say these people are angels here on earth and it's a shame my town of Wethersfield does not have a rescue center for this kind of thing. I give them 5 stars and thumbs up. Every year I will donate something to this...
