Came to the area to see the Gilman tunnels- but stopped at the Jemez visitor/welcome center just because... I had read reviews that the price of the trails was $10 per person, but that info didn't match my experience. Pricing as of Oct 2023 was $9 for 1 person. $7 per person for 2-3 people. $4 per person for 4+. Since the cost of my group was $16 and not $40, I opted to go. Super glad I did! This loop trail is lined with rock borders much of the way so you simply walk the path. There is only one place that forks- and that leads to the slot canyon. ...

This place is amazing! Not quite Monument Valley, but very close! The price of admission is not very cheap for 12 a pop, but the experience well worth it. Very well maintained trails and the view is breathtaking. Depending on which part of the day you visit, the cliffs glow bright red in the sunshine. Make sure to check out the slot canyon at the end...

Beautiful out and back trail, first half is along the red rocks and second half is the slot canyon itself. 1.5 miles total and dog friendly. Requires a $12 permit per person which can only be purchased at the visitor center across the street during their open hours....

🪶 Into the Heart of Red Rock — The Hidden Tunnel of Jemez Pueblo 🌄 Tucked deep within the glowing sandstone cliffs of Red Rock (Jemez) lies one of New Mexico’s most awe-inspiring natural wonders — a narrow tunnel carved by time and wind, leading travelers into the heart of the canyon itself. As sunlight filters through the red stone, the walls seem to breathe — shifting from deep crimson to gold with every step. This isn’t just a hike; it’s a walk through living geology and sacred story. Every curve of the tunnel echoes the resilience of the Towa-speaking Jemez people, whose ancestors shaped pottery from this same red earth. ✨ Why Visit: Traverse a natural sandstone passage sculpted by ancient desert winds. Witness the way light transforms stone, turning the tunnel into a glowing corridor of fire and spirit. Experience a sacred connection to the land — the same energy that inspires Jemez art, song, and ceremony. 🌾 Know Before You Go: 🎟️ Permits required for trail access. 🚶‍♀️ The path includes sandy terrain and uneven rock — sturdy shoes recommended. 🪔 Please tread respectfully; this land is a living sacred space, not just a scenic backdrop. 📍 Jemez Pueblo | Red Rock Trail — “Where the Earth Tells Her Story in Color and Stone.” #RedRockTrail #JemezPueblo #NewMexicoAdventures #SacredLandscapes #IndigenousHeritage
