My children and I visited this location for The Pumpkin Walk Event that was held. I will say the park itself is beautiful and very clean! As for the event,I wasn't really sure what to expect but was underwhelmed, but only because my own imagined expectations of what it would be was not met,not because of any false advertisement on their part because it was literally exactly what the title states.A walk along a trail in the woods looking at carved jack o lantern's.That is all. If this is all you would be expecting, then you would very much enjoy it!! For me personally,it wasn't exciting&I was relieved to reach the end! Mainly because I didn't realize it would be that long of a hike or grueling. Im not in great physique and don't enjoy doing anything related to exercise. That does not amount to a fun time in my mind but some people do. It's all a personal option. But I especially do not enjoy those activities with 2 small children! My 8 year old asked if we were done every 20 steps while my 3 year old got tired VERY early on the trail(of course) throwing tantrums and refusing to walk any further so I ended up having to carry him the rest of the long walk through long, winding and constant uphill downhill gravel trail.Quickly I was winded&my calves were burning. By the end I was so exhausted I collapsed in my car and almost cried with tears of joy like I just won the Olympics😂But,I still give it 3 stars because It was definitely a cute event, they handed out glow sticks to the kids as we entered and were helpful with directing us on where to go.They had a couple cool decorations randomly setup throughout the park leading to a spooky bridge you walk through as you follow the the lively sounds of Halloween Music playing as you exit off of the dark covered bridge back into daylight and pass through a wonderful little snack station, where they handed out free popcorn, cocoa&apple cider to guests before they headed onto the trai! It was a completely free event, parking was well organized and made easy to enter and exit quickly-which was relieving since there was quite a big attendance the night we went! I will say you could recognize the amount of time and effort that was put into this event. There had to have been over a hundred pumpkins setup along the trail and each one was differently carved and beautifully designed.Probably wouldn't go again since the kids got bored very quickly(&so did I)but it was a...

I would have loved to given this park a 5 star review. The nature center was rented for a wedding reception on September 10. The location and event center were awesome. The park was beautiful. The facilities were great. We had a great time up until we were cleaning up at the end and interacted with a member of the park staff. He was rude, foul mouthed, and vile. He slammed chairs around and scared my 2 wk old daughter and was incredibly rude to my family that was in the middle of cleaning up. This guy was furious that there was some food on the floor. He was mad about some cake (maybe 3 spots the size of a half dollar) that was "ground into the carpet". The carpet in question was a entry way floor mat that sits in a door way. He was so mad that I thought he was joking, because the place looked pretty good for just having 200 people eat from a self serve buffet for the past 3 hrs. The cake was from the bride and groom cake cutting. I will not deny that there was some food on the ground at the end of the reception, and we even had an accident with a leaking trash bag for which we asked where a mop was to clean up. The park employee was also mad that the trash bag leaked. We were under the impression that we had the location until 8pm. The reception was over at 5:15 and we had been cleaning up for nearly an hour until the park employee got so mad that he kicked us out around 6 and called us all dirty people. We were using our own supplies to wipe up tables and clean up, because we couldn't find supplies to clean with. The man was so miserable to us, that we just threw away everything we had, and left as he demanded.

My advice to anyone that pays to rent this venue for a wedding reception is to bring a lot of cleaning supplies and make sure all of your guests do not spill a morsel of food, make sure the bride and groom stand on a trash bag if they do a cake smash, start cleaning up early, and make zero mistakes, otherwise you will be berated and insulted by a very upset...

Lancaster has some great City parks for a city its size and this is quite possibly the best one. Not only is it beautiful, but has some of the most challenging trails in the immediate area (Clear Creek Metro is probably at the same level if you go up to the ridge). Keep in mind, some of the lesser used trails are primitive at best and that is OK! They are all well marked and there are maps at every intersection of trail to make sure you don't get lost. However, if you want a leisurely stroll, this park is great with the basic circle trail around Lake Loretta. We recently did this trail with a stroller and it was fine. Also, check out the activities at the park throughout the year. Great programs for all ages. I cannot recommend this...

This place has lots of short trails, and you can easily spend 2-3 hours here. There are two small lakes, a nature center, a covered bridge, and most of it is a wooded landscape. There are plenty of birds and other wildlife to see here. People do tend to come here on the weekend, so the earlier you come in the day, the better your experience will likely be. Some of the trails can be difficult to follow if leaves are covering them, but you should be able to figure it out. Another nice thing, every place where trails connect, they have very helpful signs to show you we're you're at.

Alley Park is part of the Lancaster park system, located just off Route 33 on the way to the Hocking Hills. Clearcreek Metro Park is also nearby. These are mostly less-used but very appealing visits for hikers and a bit more. Alley Park includes a fishing lake and some newer outdoor nature exhibits, along with a classic log cabin and covered bridge. There’s also are also walking & hiking trails, including a mostly level trail around the lake, along with more challenging trails above.
