A real hidden gem for history buffs! I had a very great experiance at the Golden Age Air Museum. It is made up of 4 hangers that house replica vintage WW1 aircraft and a farmhouse that is a gift shop and museum. The best part is all of the aircraft are in flying conditon! This place is run and maintained by volunteers. They had their Great Pumpkin Drop on Oct 21 and 22 which I attended. The Museum members were all very helpful to point out museum services and very knowledgeable on all the displayed aircraft present. This was a fly and cruise in event. Since this is an active airfield, folks that have planes can fly right into the event. I brought my classic car as this was also a car show. Pumpkins could be purchased through donation for a ride in one of 4 aircraft to try and drop in a barrel. The planes "Candy Bombers" also dropped candy in a designated area for kids to run out and grab. They have a small food shack that serves breakfast and lunch. It consists of breakfast sandwiches, burgers, hotdogs and fries as well as drinks. There are handicapped designated parking areas in their gravel parking lot. Toilets are multiple rows of port a potties throughout the area. Pets are welcome also. Overall a great experience and definitely marked on the calender...

Really cool place! I didn’t realize they closed to the public November 1st, so we stopped by and they took us on a guided tour anyway. They have amazing planes, amazing history, great place for kids to explore. Our guide, John, was extremely knowledgeable. I learned more from him than I ever thought existed about the beginning of aviation. He knew everything, from brands to motors, different types of motors. What a cool experience. Self guided tour is $7, and guided is $15. They LITERALLY build these planes from plans that were made over 100 years ago. So, make...

Very disappointed. I traveled over 2 hours to attend the show and the pumpkin drop to celebrate my grandson's 10th birthday. Unfortunately due to high winds the event was cancelled. I checked their website before I left my home and there was no notice it was cancelled. I originally planned on taking my grandson to the flying circus in Bealeton, VA but their website was updated and informed their show was cancelled. I will, unfortunately, not be back to this show since I wasted 5 hours of my day because they didn't update...
