Meckauer park is one of my favorite parks in the neighborhood. It has two playgrounds (prek and k and up), A SANDBOX (rare thing in Connecticut for some reason, also, it's a ln eagle scout project whoa), Picnic area and a spot for BBQ, basketball hoop, low impact walking/biking trail (bring your kids here to practice!), a nice pond with some cool wildlife (like herons and bullfrogs, ducks, geese, turtles and some hard to identify water rodens), plenty of trees to provide shade, several exercise spots for adults and youth, a good size bark park for your doggos, a spacious gazebo, Big bathrooms (closed off season sigh) Also, there is a book crossing spot aka little free library, make sure you check it out.

Big dog area can be muddy during spring flooding period and dusty in driest part of summer, so you may want to walk dog on lead around walking trail instead sometimes.
