Heritage Park (Husco Field) is a large park located off route 173 in Bethlehem NJ. The walking trail, bike/walking path, playgrounds, baseball and soccer fields, as well as restrooms are all very well maintained. during large sporting conferences, parking in the main lot is at a premium however there is plenty of additional parking along the driveway on the grass. The park is surrounded by farmland on all sides which adds to the "small town" quaint feeling of the location. the rustic, vine-wrapped fence that runs the length of the park is also a nice country touch. People new to the park may notice some other unconventional sports taking place at heritage park as well. There is some people who cross country ski on skis with wheels around the park. for the more daring there is occasionally some paramotor pilots who make use of the park as a place to take off and land which is a unique sight of Heritage Park. Overall, I highly recommend this park weather you need to walk your dog or bring kids to...
Read moreHeritage Park is beautiful. From the fields to the 9/11 memorial to the walking trails. Seven years ago, I marked that walking trail for my eagle scout project (yellow marker in a below picture) and at one point, made a physical map with various points of interest. It's around 5 or so miles with the usual hills and slanting landscape and a couple of rocks. Upon revisiting a couple days ago, it has been very well maintained and clean. Most of the markers are still there to tell which of the three trails you are on which is definitely the most surprising for me. The trails have stunning scenery of the distant hills and treetops. Also at two points, the trail runs along a river so you can enjoy the sound of running water about half way through. If you enjoy walking or just nature in general and are in Asbury, definitely give the trail a shot. You won't be disappointed. It felt good to walk this trail another time with little change from the last...
Read moreOh my goodness! The best park I've taken my girls to. What I love is that the zipline offers one with a seat for those who may be afraid to hang on themselves! That alone made it worth the trip. But I also love that some of the jungle gym really encourages planning/ thinking about next steps. "Ok, I'm going to step here, then I'll have to switch hands to grab the next rope. Then I can move my foot to the next step. " There are porta potties and they were nice and clean. Great experience. We went on a beautiful slept day right around 1 p.m. amd there was only one other...
