Theres a lot of things you can do here you can camp (if you see a green picnic table with a fresh coat of paint, that was me and some friends, just thought I would throw that in there to let you know) you can fish, you can go on boats and many other things too. (This is about the rating) I wish you could give half stars because I would give this a 3.5 and I feel like a 3 is too low so I boosted it to a 4 but my REAL RATING IS 3.5. The rating is a 3.5 because the general activities are a 4 maybe a 4.5 but the group activities or school related activities and things like that (ex. School Of The Wild) I would rate at 2.5 maybe 3. I give such a low rating now, but let me be clear when I first went for the group activities they was a 4 or 5. That was 3 years ago, there have been various changes most of which are improvements. But there is one change that really threw off everything. That change is who took over operations for School Of The Wild and other group activities. The person I am referring to is Jay (Last name unknown) he is just not the type of person I want around children (ex. On one occasion in which I was present, I don't know how many more incidents involving him there are, but it the situation I am describing, Jay proceeded to argue and aggravate and eventually, set off a special needs student after he had been told to just please let it go because we didn't want a situation. But Jay continued to argue with the student which eventually led to a big problem.) Also, Jay changed up the School Of The Wild program. Whereas 3 years ago the program was about 5-6 grade and other age students learning about nature, how to help the environment, and learning about Macbride. He has hence changed the program to Jay making the kids do labor for him instead of his own job and disguising as a field trip. Now the kids learn next to nothing about any of the mentioned skills, and Jay gets free labor. To me that is just wrong and I think Jay needs to go and they need to get someone to implement the ideas they had originally and get it back to the greatness it once was. (No I am not exaggerating, Jay said so hisself, he told us he is the reason it has turned to labor, he said it was his idea and he...
Read moreGreat semi secluded camping!!! You're not packed in like sardines, but not completely alone either. The kids, 3 and 5, had plenty to do and places to explore (raptor center, butterfly garden, walking trails). I was hoping for a place to swim and there wasn't one. Even still wonderful place to spend the weekend grilling under the stars with...
Read moreAwesome place. So many trails to walk. They have a bird blind which is perfect to capture pictures of birds. A couple had just filled the bird feeders so there was lots of bird action. My husband and I walked a couple of miles and barely touched on the land available. We did see...
