Music in the park every Thursday in the summer. Along with a small car show, with friendly people to hang out with. On that night there is also a few food trucks. Wednesday afternoons June through September? There is a farmers market. Parking is free during those events. However, usually, there is a fee. They have a nice beach, but no lifeguard. There is also a boat launch, which also requires a fee. Picnic area, some are under a covered shelter. Grills also available. Nice playground for the kiddos. Lots of shady spots. Modern bathrooms. Not...

Okay so i only dropped a star because some of the other visitors were inappropriate (but its a free beach with no lifeguard) so pantsing each other in the water with little kids around is hard to make people NOT do. Dont worry, they werent doing it to random strangers. Just one another 😒 Otherwise its a popular beach, clean, minimal weeds. And pretty respectful community members. Parking is not free. $5/visit or $10/season pass. Season passes CANNOT be purchased at the gate. You have to buy them at City Hall or Lake Liquors. Bike or walk...

One of the gems of Big Lake - a beautiful park with a playground, swimming beach, boat launch, fishing pier, volleyball pit, skate park, picnic grills and shelters - and Freedom Rock is here too! Beautiful shady grounds and sunny areas.

Farmers Market every Wednesday and Music in the Park Thursdays during the summer months. Movie in the Park(ing lot) twice per summer. Free parking for those events, plus food trucks and more.

And Floaters has kayak and paddleboard rentals available, plus tandem...

This park is carried by its Lake. Which is very nice ; although its name is kinda funny given the context of Minnesota’s other lakes. Playground and lots of seating for a family visit, although you do have to pay $5 to park here. Which, for a park its size, is kinda eh, y’know? But overall it’s nice. There is a sidewalk that serves as a “Lake walk” that goes from the park along the Lake Drive. You can see Big Lake, Lake Mitchell, and Blacks Lake. And that’s neat, but it’s technically not apart of the park.

Great Lake for family fun! Nice sandy beach and protected swimming area. Small playground for little kids. Beautifully tree shaded picnic area with grills and lots of picnic tables. Kayak and paddle boards can be rented at Floaters (a shed) in the parking lot. There is a $5 parking fee for vehicles and a $20 parking fee for vehicles with trailers. I highly recommend spending a half day or a full day here with your family. If you have access to a boat, it’s even better.

I brought my family here to go to the beach, but all of the sudden it started to act like a warzone and a giant gang fight ensued I had to get my family to safety but it was too late one of the gang members grabbed my youngest child and held him hostage so he made me give my wallet to him in order to get my kid back safely, after we ran to our cars and will never come back here. still a fun outing though.
