Springville Marsh State Nature Preserve — Attraction in Big Spring Township

This an excellent wetland preserve. There is a .8 mile boardwalk loop that circumnavigates the swamp. Additionally, there are some benches, a bird blind, and observation tower that overlooks the preserve. There are excellent birding opportunities and wildflower observations. There are no facilities and the parking lot will hold about 15 to 20 cars. A very unique area in northwest Ohio....

It was Ok I guess. A few signs along the path telling about plants and animals that can be found there. It seemed mostly overgrown and we saw nothing but flies and mosquitos. The boardwalk is in need of some repairs, it's showing its age and weathered really bad...

Springville marsh is a beautiful area to take a nature walk. There is a very nice boardwalk around the marsh. If you go during the summer make sure to wear big spray as the mosquito population is large, because of the marsh. I love going...
