the most beautiful and well preserved (due to respectful patrons) trail, cliffs, and waterfall. The front entrance had well marked enter and exit signs with a trail map on the main head and plenty of parking. A majestic national beauty and only a 0.2 mi. walk to a very active waterfall. If you look up the hike ahead of time it does say it will be a more challenging than not hike due to the hilly nature or water features but if you stay on the trail (follow the diamond markers) and know your limits, you will get to experience the best example of prehistoric stone and cliffs I've been pleasured to see. I hope funding and support knows how special this location and geography is. Options to climb or walk or just sit and appreciate the views. Welcome to southern Indiana home to the most breath taking hilly and...

This trail was amazing. It is clearly marked and there are plenty of additional scrambling and mini adventure options off of the main trail. I went with a friend yesterday and was delighted. Waterfalls, hiking in the gorge, rock bluffs, stream, beautiful wildflowers. We only saw a handful of other people during our time there.

Our trip was 2.6 miles, for 2 hours, and we didn't even explore all of the little coves and along the bluffs at the back end of the trail. If you love to explore and see things from different vantage points, you could easily spend 3 hours here. This is probably my new favorite trail in Indiana, next to Trail 3,5,9 at Turkey Run.

Additional Info: Nice size parking lot, no restrooms or porta potties (I didn't expect any). Wear hiking shoes if you...

Short and sweet scenic loop. Not accessible. You hike along a creek for most of the loop. There are a few (4-5?) waterfalls along the hike, and one of them is right at the begining. There is another fall after that slightly off trail that allows for some scrambling if you feel adventurous. There are also plenty of the classic Indiana sandstone canyons and caves. The largest cave is behind a dripping waterfall and it is part of the trail. There are no fees to access this trail and there are maps available at the parking lot (no restrooms nor water fountains though). The road to the parking lot is not paved but it's good enough for my fwd! Overall would recommend and would return. You get a break from the sounds of cars at the trail (but you can still hear...

For a fun visit w/kids - use the restroom at a gas station on your way. Recommend bringing kids in swim suits w/play clothes on top and shoes like keens, other hiking water shoes, or maybe crocs. The water may not be flowing but even on dry days youll feel better letting kids play in water puddles if they are prepared. Also get them Sunscreened and bugsprayed up in the parking lot. Bring a small towel, tissues, hand sanitizer, kid snack, and water in the bag you keep w you. The towel will help w whiny kids who get mud on them. The trail can take 40 minutes at the shortest, but usually about 2 hours for casual side path exploring, then have dry clothes, dry shoes and towels waiting in the car when you get back. Enjoy!

What a wonderful trail and experience hidden right outside French Lick. Our family loves to hike and be outside and this one didn’t disappoint. The rock formations are tall, much like on the Kentucky River outside Lexington. Lots of crags and cracks and areas to climb safely for kiddos. Also a few small caves to explore (shallow holes really, but still fun to go “in”). The trail itself is a nice hike as well if you don’t want to climb all over the rocks- but really the rocks and waterfalls and how easily accessible they all are, are what makes this place special. Was easy parking for us, but only about 20 spots total. Have a blast!
