Me & my wife went for it on Thanksgiving 2021 .We don't hike but for reasons decided to visit this breathtaking place . This place has 6-7 odd lakes .The hike is not easy but worth it.I think if we can do it then a lot can. We took 4 hrs to reach first lake .People took 2.5 hrs .But we took our own pace as we were resting more & soaking in more views . All trail says the hike is hard & it is . We had sprouts electrolytes + plus water which saved us 😄 We stayed in big pine .The big pine campground area was 20 min drive from our motel & considering how tired we were at the end of day ,it was best decision to stay at Big Pine. Coming down ,we took 2.5 hrs

It was wild! We went from beautiful sunny skies to hail, snow, lighting, thunder and rain all within 30 minutes. The most epic adventure though, and stunning scenery. The fall colors were just starting to peak too. It honestly was so surreal and I can't wait to go back. We only made it to Lake 2 because of the thunderstorm but I hear Lake 5 is gorgeous as well and you shouldn't miss it! Oh and bring a change of clothes! I wore a tank and shorts then had to change into pants and a sweatshirt. Used my extra hiking socks as gloves too because I got soaked from...

While the trail has some strenuous sections, the landscape is mesmerizing the entire way. Encompassing waterfalls, rivers/creeks, a historic cabin, and wildlife. The lakes are the most vibrant in color during the summer/fall seasons. The hike makes it all the while worth it to take a plunge into them once you...
