North Lake on Highway 395 Has Peaked!! 🍁🚗💨

This was our second hike of the weekend and I loved it, but people tend to call me *E*X*T*R*A and half of our group didn't make it all the way to Blue Lake. I'm proud to say the 16 year old and her mom's best friend made all the way to the end of this out and back trail. Pushing our tired legs to keep going, the six mile trail around Lake Sabrina took us past two frozen waterfalls and gave us 360° views of the Sierra Crest. We finally reached the final miles, going up the side of this mountain, zigzagging a million switchbacks and trying to stay positive as we climbed tiny steps up to find Blue Lake under a layer of ice at 10,400 ft! Do this hike, go all the way if you can. *Be Extra*

I will begin by saying start with anything mosquito repellent and when you think you have enough on, put more on. The mosquitoes are in abundance and out to feed. No doubt about it. That is to be expected so no real negatives there. Just be prepared. The trail is well marked a little rocky in places and a couple of small water passes but nothing serious . Trail is well covered from the elements with a decent amount of elevation gain and lots to look at. Was an enjoyable hike and don't be afraid to pack a lunch and sit by the lake about 3 mi up from the trailhead. Great place to stop and bring in the beauty and just relax 💖 hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

If you love fishing with a view then look no further. I have been fishing around California but this place took my breath away, I didnt even care to fish as much as I couldn't stop taking pictures! The simple beauty through this place is enough to make me try to move thos direction. As we walked a trail to a stream which there are plenty of spot to stream fish alone a man helping us find a trail said, "lord jesus spent a little more time making this" and I dont think I could have said it any better. You must see it...
