Had a great experience picking here with my boyfriend. The staff was friendly and gave us some tips for picking since we hadn't been before. I highly recommend going in as early as you can, and to go in on a day after they've been closed for ripening. If you're planning to pick more than one type of berry, start with the raspberries as they're less abundant, then blackberries, then blueberries. It was $3 for a pint and $20 for a gallon. You can see in the picture that we picked two pints of each berry, which took us about an hour and a half. And bonus, the containers and bags to pick in and take home were free.

Every summer we come here to fill buckets of blueberries. The scenery is always gorgeous and the blueberries delicious. I'd recommend bringing water (you can easily dehydrate yourself by picking in the hot weather), sun screen, bug spray and closed-toe shoes. Baskets are provided for picking. After checking out they offer plastic bags in which to put your berries. For the kiddos tired of picking the farm offers a small play area with a sand box and a few other features. Note: Low riding vehicles may have trouble entering or exiting the parking area from the road.

I’ve been to 3 Birds Berry Farm several times and always enjoy the experience. The farm is clean, well-maintained, and free of weeds, which makes berry picking easy and fun. The blueberries are fresh, juicy, and full of flavor ; much better than store-bought! They also have herb beds, and I’ve picked up mint here a few times. It has a strong, fresh aroma that I really love. The owners are friendly and welcoming, which makes each visit even better. Highly recommend if you’re looking for fresh berries and a peaceful outing near Blacksburg!

I always enjoy berry picking. This one was a bit disappointing. The place was packed with people on a Saturday. I get it that everybody wants to get out with their kids to do some sort of activity, but it felt very commercialized. There were at least 20 to 30 cars in the parking lot. I almost think that they need to sell tickets to get in to minimize the number of people per hour. The staff were very nice though. Sadly, by 9:30 a.m. I couldn't find too many raspberries that were ripe and very few blackberries. There is a ton of berries still green, but with the number of people coming in you almost have to have that perfect timing before it all is picked. I've been to other farms further from the area that offer a more authentic experience where you can actually get some berries. Don't get me wrong, I don't think it's the farm's fault, and perhaps I should have visited on a weekday to get what I was looking for. I don't think I...
