What a tremendous piece of land to have conserved for future generations. It's got a wonderful lakeshore dune forest trail system with several lookout points along the dune Bluffs that drop into Lake Michigan. Much like Empire Bluffs, Sleeping Bear Dunes, and Pyramid Point.. this high dune cliffs are emblematic of the area and are both pristine ecosystems and idyllic geography to gain wide views of the surrounding landscape. Love this place....one note...due to recent high lake levels access to the beach has been suspended. There are notices as well as they removed the bottom section of stairs that previously allowed you beach access so please respect their demands to help minimize potential erosion. It critical to the preservation activities the cliffs do not begin to fall into the lake.

This hike has been on my list for 3 years and finally got to do it. I thought it would be more sandy, but 95% was woods and dirt. Pretty easy hike. Good for a hot day because it's all shady. The views were wonderful and we loved playing on the beach for 10 minutes before completing the 2nd half of the hike. We did it about 30 minutes before sunset and the woods were getting dark-ish. There was a fair amount of poison ivy so stay in the middle of the path if you get itchy! A small parking area, but it wasn't filled. I don't think it's a super high trafficked hike. The trails were very well marked.

This hike was great. The views and forest scenes are wonderful. It is posted as 2 miles but it is closer to over 3 if you do it all. Know that this is an intermediate hike with a lot of rugged trail and climbing. My friend accused me of taking them on a hike for Mountain goats. It is not something to do with a stroller. The stairs to the beach have washed out so no beach access. There is also a fair amount of poison ivy off trail, so stay on the trail and you're fine in that regard.
